Well you can always depend on your local pep-boys to fuck up finding the right part. Thanks to them i am now driving on 3 lug nuts (one which doesnt tighen 100%) until saturday morning when i can go back. Check out how bad the last STS tire shop messed up the studs. See below:

A question when seating the brakes, should it looks like the pads are withing 1 micron of touching the rotor? I set the piston all the way back and turned the car on... gave it a few pumps and it looks as if they are pretty much touching the rotor.

The pads will sit VERY close to the rotor - as long as they are not hanging up and rubbing, your good.

Got a question...did this happened to your driver-side rear? Or even the other side?

I can't beleive that people actually leave places with fubar'd shit and drive on it.

If you know and recognize that it's fucked, tell them to get bent and fix it right now or give you free transportation until it is fixed.

Yeah, that sounds good on paper does'nt it? Its already fixed, had a friend come and fix it in the office parking lot. Drove maybe 10 miles like that.

you're driving it like that !?!?! really !?!? what a 'tard
You know what, im not even going to bother with you.

That's crazy...you don't want to know how many people I know who have Durangos and had the same problem on the drier side rear, including me.

Dang stop giving Mike a hard time guys. He knew it needed to be fixed which is why it ALREADY IS fixed. He's just sharing his story and maybe giving us a heads up of what to look out for since Mopar had the same problem as well.

Telling a shop to bend over and fix your car or give you a car to drive in the meantime isn't as easy as walking back in and demanding the stuff. As soon as you leave the parking lot of the shop they wipe their hands of anything that they may have screwed up. It really is a joke how horrible shops are today. Can't find an honest place anywhere.

Sadly we all have to go to these places sometime if you want new tires and such, so you pretty much just have to cross your fingers and hope most of the morons aren't working that day.

But I agree with xbx as far as shopping at PepBoys and the other places like that. I go there for supplies to wash/wax and oil. If I have to go there for a part (gaskets, etc...) I open it up right on the counter and make sure its right. They rarely have anything in stock anyway. They have shelves 20ft high behind the counter but never have anything I need

Don't even get me started on the Dakota parts that fit other trucks. Same parts, same package, but they don't have them for the Dakota. Ask for the same parts for a Ram and they have them. Go figure.

I've had better luck at Napa for parts. We also have a small local place that's been around for decades but it seems like they stopped "trying" and are just selling oil, filters, spark plugs, and whatevers left over in the store. Sucks but its getting hard to find decent service and parts anywhere

I didn't know that place was still in business, good example it should be closed down!

I 100% agree. Seems to be a trend nowadays even with reputable shops.

Haha yellow yopu just saved me a bunch of typing the same exact words.

Either way I was just showing you what the story is with the wheel studs and what to watch out for.

If you want to be a whining bitch like buzz and caulk go ahead, doesn't bother me any.
