They have had the 5.7 in the Durango since 05, why would that change?? Not a fan of these new cross-overs, they are like mini vans that sit higher off the ground and have 4WD.

Because it is the same as a new JGC. Same auto, different skin here and there. Same plant builds them one after another.

They did the same with the Gen2 D and the Aspen.

I agree 100% man. Nothing about the new Durango says "truck"... I'm REALLY not feeling the dinky windows on the rear quarter panels either. The Jeep looks 10 times better. I can see why they're considering naming it the Magnum, as it does just look like a big station wagon.

It is not a truck. Frames are gone EXCEPT for trucks. Unibody is where it is at. Thank your government EPA and milage needs for that.

Jeep looks 10 times better? Its the same fracking vehicle with a diff grille and rounded wheel wheels instead of square. And who here kept the factory grille anyways? LOL

Have you even looked at the Grand Cherokee pictures? Check it out:

It's also pictured behind the Durango like Crisp mentioned. The Jeep has black window pillars so the window area looks like one piece, instead of blatantly leaving a wimpy window on the rear quarter panel like the Durango has. The square wheels wells are nicer, and the Jeep also has a very strongly defined body line under the doorhandles to break things up a bit. The Jeep front end looks better imo as well.

Ya, first one I saw was online, looks sharp. The regal has this "big lexus" look to it I think. Not sure what special editions or models will be available. I know there is a Z28 or some sort of Z model for next years Camero. Speaking of station wagons or cross-overs we are starting the new Equinox in the next few months picking up some of the slack from the CAMI plant. Everytime they run one down the line on an agv I ask people if thats some sort of new station wagon. I laugh, people look at me like im stupid...and I dont care.

That Regal would be a let down for me, car is to big for that motor and it only makes a little more power than the old 3.8 SC'd GS. Turbo I4's don't belong in a big car like that.

And it's Camaro!

The potentially new Durango does look nice, but it's sad to see it has totally abandoned the big-rig look that Dodge introduced with the Ram in the early 90s. I liked the 2nd generation Durango (I'm assuming that was the last version manufactured), but in an era of high gas prices that are bound to go even higher, a massive SUV just isn't going to sell well anymore.

Naming it "Magnum" would be a mistake. That name's become way too cliche in the way it's used whenever someone wants to promote a product as being tough and manly.
