I wired up an overhead computer in my truck tonight and can't get the damn thing to even turn on. I've checked all the wires a good dozen times and everything is right. I get nothing at all when I turned the truck on. I have the power line ran to the #11 fuse and the ground is good. The CCD wires are taped into the OBD port. I don't have the temperature sensor wires hooked up yet but I wouldn't think that would prevent it from turning on. Any ideas?

For the 6 black wires, the wire closest to the clip I have the ground. For the next one in I have the power wire. Than #3,4 are saved for the Temp. #5 is ran to the black/white wire for the OBD port. #6 is ran to the purple/brown wire. The powerwire is connected to the #11 fuse.

Hm... It would be nice to see a picture of this.

The 2000 FSM, if I read this correctly, shows the following pins going into the trip computer itself:

1 - Fused B+ (which also feeds the overhead map lights)
2 - CCD Bus - (White/black)
3 - CCD Bus + (Violet/Brown)
4 - Temperature sensor
5 - Power ground
6 - no connection
7 - Signal ground for temperature sensor
8 - Ignition Switch power (fuse 11)

Well I think the screen is just fried :/ There's a burn mark in the corner of the screen. Called around to the salvage yards and no on has a dak or a dur in right now to grab another one out of.

Don't be too sure that your screen is fried. That's a vacuum fluorescent display, and they normally have a brown spot near the edge of the screen.

Check your wiring. Better yet, get us a couple of pictures of the wiring harness going into the computer.

It might have. Is this the back side of your overhead console?

If so, did you use the upper connector above the yellow lettering, or the lower conector with all of those black wires coming out of it?

That screen looks normal. I wouldn't worry about it right now.

Er... What is the part number on the back of your trip computer? It should be a 56045185AB. There should be 7 wires on that connector, but I only see 6. In any case, it appears that the wire harness connector is not hooked up correctly.

That's not a correct wiring pinout. You're supposed to have an extra wire somewhere that turns the trip computer on when you turn the ignition key, but it's not there. Also, that doesn't appear to be a valid Chrysler part number.

Can you take a picture of the back plate of your trip computer? I think you received a PCI bus trip computer by mistake.

If you see "56049130AA" (or "56049130AB" or so on) anywhere on that trip computer, it is a PCI model trip computer, and you can't use it.

And your trip computer connector has 6 wires? There should be a ignition switch wire for the CCD trip computer, and there isn't one. The 6 wire connector is for PCI. That picture above is incorrect.
