as time goes by im finding more and more parking lot damage against my focus.

it's just gotten to the point for me where it's "bring on the damage", since I'm gunna have the car PDR'd and repainted eventually.

But hey... at my old house near the university, some asshole spat on my driver door and then punched it in.

just the other day found some new scratches on the passenger side.

once you get the first few dings, the next ones don't matter anymore.

It may not apply in your situation, but do you ever think someone is parking beside you, to protect half of your and half of their vehicle? You can usually tell when someone cares about their vehicle.

I always park near the end of the parking lots. Parking at the far end seems to attract idiots, if you park where the vehicles 'fade out', so to speak, chances are that nobody parks beside you.

If I'm parking out in the lot, and I'll see another dodge truck similar to mine, or another nice dodge, doing the same thing, I'll park beside them, with clearly enough room between the two. Maybe if nothing else the other guy will think its neat someone with a similar truck parked beside them.

Although I don't think it applies in this situation since its a Hon-duh, I get what you are saying. I will have to be more conscious of this next time I am parking.

If someone else wants to park out in the middle of nowhere with me, and keeps a respectable distance, that's fine. They probably realize it's safer to park next to someone else who cares about their vehicle than among the general public. The people that piss me off to no end are the ones that purposely park as close as possible to you. I've had people get so close that I have no idea how they got out. If I were to back out, I would rip off their mirror with my own. They go out of their way to piss you off. I get mad as hell, but so far they haven't damaged my truck, so I haven't had to return the favor.

i try to park away from people. or park near other people with stuff done to their vehicles so i know they will take care like i did.

last year at carlisle all truck nats, there was some fuckhead little kid who ran up to my truck, STOOD on my sideskirts and lifted himself up to the window to look inside my truck.

i watched it happen but his dad grabbe him and ran off before i was close enough to say anything.

In my honest opinion older people are the worst, they don't care about their cars at all. I had an older guy park his car between my truck and a GMC denali, guy opens his door and nails this GMC with his door. It was very annoying but okay it wasn't my vehicle or my place to make a comment. He leave soon after and backs out and smokes back corner of my box and almost takes my taillight out too as he leaves. I am sitting down eating and watching this all happen I jump out of my seat and race out, but before I even get to his car he was gone. If my box wasn't rotted out I would've gone after him to fix it, but I figured whatever its not worth the hassle.

If something is going to happen, it's going to happen. I quit worrying about it long ago because people don't give a shit.

Wait till you take it to a show and walk away and come back and someone is using your tailgate as a seat or your fenders/hood for a leaning post.
My red truck is my show truck, and is RARELY driven on the street, or at least for mundane duties like work..

well, two years ago, right after i got it (2000 w/37k miles) i take it to work by request of my gearhead coworkers :) and i drive it to the sub shop. There are these two D-bags outside, and naturally one idiot starts leaning on it....still trying to choke down the bite of sub, i walked outside and asked him (NOT POLITELY) WTF he thought he was doing....after a dumb look, i just informed him he was doing one of about 4 things that constitute justifiable homicide...he laughed...for a second, until he got a REAL good look in my eyes....

It's the utter disrespect that boils my blood....

I think some people just feel like they're supposed to park where other people park. They can't make an independent decision on their own, so they go the easy route and park next to another car. It's similar to the douchebags that have to drive right next to the people in the next lane. You speed up, they speed up. You slow down, they slow down. They just don't feel comfortable doing things on their own.
Sometimes you hit things RIGHT on the head....it's why they drive slow in the fast lane, too, because they are comfortable, and don't like to make too many changes, even if it stacks up traffic for two freakin miles....

I always protect the GT500's, chally's, chargers. etc.... although it's with an R/T, so i hope they get the msg....

when I see **** take up 2 spots in the lot, I feel drawn to key that shit up and down. Also I never let myself stop enjoying myself because I felt my truck was so nice. parking all the way out in the parking lot and thn getting upset that someone parks next to it just seems like a waste to me.

Anybody who keys another persons car is absolute scum, whatever the reason. coward-ass shit. Bring it to ME if you have a problem.....can you imagine how'd you'd feel if he borrowed that car from a friend, and because the dude and YOU are a D-bag, his shit is screwed....

I am not looking for a guy in a lot that I cant park in because he took 2 spots.

I'll say it again, anyone who destroys somebody else's property, whatever the rationalization is a coward. Ever parked when somebody else down the line started the fuckup, and all you can do is park in relation to the cars, not the lines? Well, after those cars leave, and yours is left, do you think someone should key your vehicle?

Oh, plus it's illegal. It's a damn stupid thing to get shot over. And some people in this world won't hesitate.

Let it go, take the moral high ground. Or feel like a badass, because you keyed grandma's car, because she can't park anymore...

I have been that guy before, happens in my complex all the time, because people are morons. When I get up the next day and see my car parked crooked over the line all by itself, I feel like an asshole

But it happens....you'd hate for someone to key you because of it...

I hear ya. Never said I would key someone. And the people that piss me off are the ones that park diagonally across two spots.

We only "ghetto park" in the very back of an unpopulated parking lot, and usuallly in a group.... if it's tight parking, then no/././
