painting my motor

so i finally picked up my motor from the machine shop. now its time to paint it up and get it ready for install.

painted up. im getting intense blue paint for the oil pan and valve covers. and the fuel rails. i cant decide if the accessory bracket would be do much? opinions?

Looks good, I would do the acc bracket in a silver color like the manifold was before it was painted.

I would of left the intake silver painted the motor and acc bracket intense blue with the oil pan black .. I guess its to late for that now tho:jester:

I was thinking about this motor, but didnt realize it had so much silver already.

yeah the whole truck will only have 2 colors. the only thing shinny will be my polished long tubes. otherwise is blue and black. some things i jsut cant decide which one.

whats the torque spec on the intake?

step 1 tighten bolts 1 and 2 in increments of 12 inch lbs to 72 inch lb
2 tighten 3 through 12 in seq to 72 inch lb
3 make sure all are torqued to 72 inch lb.
4 tighten all in sequence to 144 inch lb.

Thats what we did when we put mine on. Just went right to 12 ft lbs. Didnt do the 12 inch to 72 inch stuff.

Looks like it came out good. Wheres a good place to get a set of the r/t heads like you have on the motor?

my truck, motor, exhaust, interior, wheels, tires, suspension, all have been bought off this forum. sooo idk. i dont think they are made anymore, so you need to find a used set. just get a set of eddies from summit for like 1500 fully assembled

will do great soon. gotta get them painted along with the shocks.

i just got the motor in my blue truck, focus is on that right now. just doing all the little things right now to get everything ready for a clean quick install into the black truck.
