If I can ever find me a spare frame I was wondering what options I had for protecting it... I figure powdercoating is the only option right? Can anyone give me a ballpark figure on how much that would cost me... Be gentle lol

Thanks,
-Jason

one billion dollars...lol

check out www.airborncoatings.com

they do some good stuff man. It a;; de[ends on how much prep would need to be done too. they would need to glass bead the whole frame and get it extremely clean. if i were you, i would wire wheel the poop out of it first, do any mods you want to do to it first, (box it in in spots), then ship it to them. thats the expensive part too. needs to be sent via truck frieght. i have no idea as to what that will be either. best to call airborn and see what they say. id like to do the same thing. have my frame boxed in, and powdercoated teal. would be bad ass.

let us know what you find out.

will all of this hold up to rocks? i have a pretty nasty driveway lol! And whatever I go for (I really like the por15 thing THANKS!).. whatever I go for, I plan on spraying some of that rubber undercoating on it as well

Thanks,
-Jason

that rubber undercoating wont be needed reallt, if you powdercoat it. its an electrostatic type material, that gets baked on. they put it in an oven for a certain amount of time, and its hard as a rock when it comes out.

I didnt think of that but i hear some of those liners are like a trap for water and trap water under them causing even more damage...
the plastic ones do. thats why they are shit. i tossed mine. witht he rhinolining, the bed needs to be sanded down, so it gives the material they are spraying some bite to the surface. comes out so nice too. you could have your frame done up with that. prolly cost you about 1200.oo or so. a typical truck bed goes for like 400.00. so if a bare frame was sent to them, with any an all mods done prior to it, then i cant see it being more than 1200.oo. just be sure this is what you want, cause you WILL NOT get that shit off, without an airchizle.

Love POR15!!! Not good if exposed to the sun tho, fades fast but great everywere else and man is it hard. Use gloves...trust me.

the guy I use here in Indy charges $450 for single coat $675 for two stage paint on a 18' to 19' frame. Sandblasting would be extra.

Airborne coatings gave me an estimate of $600 for my frame... Hmmm, Maybe I should hit up the yellow pages because it's a lot cheaper than I thought it'd be.... still not as cheap as I'd like it to be lol
