Ok, since I put on the mopar OEA, my truck acts kinda funny sometimes and I don't know what it could be. The engine is like surging when at low speeds, it will bog and slow a bit then pep up a little then bog back down, ect.... It's pretty noticable but nothing extreme, and sometimes it only slows down, almost like my ebrake is on....which it's not! Anyone ever heard of anything like this? Any idea what it could be?

had that problem after open air filter change too (not Mopar). All the way to it finally throwing up a TPS volt too high code. Checked, volt was at 7.05 (not too high), snugged down the bolts checked it still not too high. Then one day I gunned it on the high way. WOT for about 10 seconds, and sure enough things have been good since, and the error went away... odd but try it, who knows.

(maybe someone can tell me what my issue was)

I added the Mopar OAE (Open Air Element) a month or so back, along with adjusting the TPS voltage (mine was too low... should be between 7 and 8, even around 7.3 - 7.6... mine was around 6.8) and moving the IAT sensor. You can hear it sucking in the air when giving it more throttle... which was ok (it later became annoying, to me anyway), but I swear I could feel it give up power after the engine warmed. It felt ok when starting off cold, but as it warmed up it felt like the truck would bog a bit... like not enough power. Assuming it was sucking in a great deal of hot air, along with the noise annoying me, I took it off.

Using the stock air box (with a smooth tube in between) and a less restrictive filter (and sticking a tube up to a hole beside the radiator) I think it feels MUCH better now.

ive always heard that most open element air filters do infact suck hot air, while the stock gets cooler air, but the open element can get way more hot air than the stock can get cold air so it it usualy better, i mean what im trying to say is a whole lot of hot air is better than a small amount of cold air

You moved the IAT sensor? that's the one at the back of the TB right? And that's whats making that horrible sucking sound after you let off the throttle? Where did you move it to and how hard was it?

did u reset ur comp after u installed ur OEA and TB?
No...I didn't think of that.....should I have? It's a stock TB just shaved, all the sensors should still read the same I think. I'll give that a try tho...

But I checked the plenum and there's no pooling in the intake, and I couldn't find any leak around the outside, so that's good news. I did find that my PCV valve was gone bad.....I haven't gotten the new one on yet but would that alone have caused it?

It is not the plenium gasket, trust me on that...

I would think the computer would re-learn the current setup after a while... I don't know how many miles you've put on the Dak since you made the change. It may be worth resetting the computer, which is just a quicker way to make it re-learn.

Also sounds like it could also be a vacuum leak?

OK I'm gonna check the TPS voltage tomorrow....what should it be at? And is it possible that the plenum is leaking? I was told that may cause similar symptoms.
the voltage shouldnt be 6.8 or what have you. the . is in the wrong spot. .55-.70 is normal. anything higher than .78 will throw a code. just pointing out something here ive seen a few peopl do. just be sure the setting is right on the meter.
