So i haven't started my yellow truck in a few weeks, since it's in project mode.

Earlier, i went out there and started it, let it run 10-15 minutes while i loosened the front lugs and took the front wheels and tires off to go take them to have new tires put on tomorrow..

So, i figured i'd crack the rad cap open to see if it was low.. and this is what i saw.. what the hell does this mean?

I don't remember..I've never ran strait water in any vehicle...Unless it needed to be topped off someplace and water was the only thing available...

I had already planned to " Summer-ize" the truck, which included a coolant system flush, etc etc. So maybe that's what it is Dwight, more water than antifreeze making it foam?

Has been known to happen. Flush and drain the system and refill it with a 50/50 mix and you should be fine.

It runs good, not acting up or anything..and the coolant doesn't have any weird smells, smells like hot antifreeze..

I don't have a compression gauge, so that will be awhile.I will most likely do like Dwight said, and see what it does. Cause it probably is more water than coolant since I haven't been driving it and all.

How would it sitting reduce the antifreeze level? Antifreeze doesn't evaporate out. If it is mostly water, its because you have been losing coolant and topping it off with water. Also, the coolant system holds a fair amount of coolant, to reduce the antifreeze to 25% (assuming you started with a 50/50 mix, you would have to lose/replace half the entire system capacity...that's more than a few quarts of coolant. To get "mostly water" would be a huge loss.. Unless you have a known leak, I'd be wondering where that coolant was going.

I personally would at least check the oil for coolant (oil needs changing after sitting anyway) and pick up one of those coolant test kits that test the coolant for hydrocarbons. Those are easy checks, and a bad head gasket isn't something you want to sit on just and "just see what happens".
