Had anyone tried to take the center sliding glass out of their truck? Can this be done with the window assembly still in place?

I tried that. I took the moulding out of the top and the bottom. It wiggles up and down but not enough to get it out.

Well, I was able to pry the frame apart and get the one out of the junkyard. Can someone with a tape measure do me a favor? I need to know the height of the sliding portion of the window with the window closed in the tracks. There are a few scratches on mine on the top and bottom and I want to make sure that it will all be inside the track and not exposed.

I could sand blast the edge of the glass for you and "blend" it into the rest of he window instead of a hard line...give it that "frosted around the edge" look that the windows in all the old houses have in the winter time!:jester:

Ha. No. I want to make sure that the scratch I am concerned about will be within the frame/moulding of the window. If its going to be exposed I am not gonna get the etching done on it.

I need to know the question marks. I think I might need both measurements, one in the middle and one on the end, because the window appears to be curved. Thanks in advance.

13-7/8" from top to bottom....measuring in center and on the outside edge...glass cannot be curved otherwise it would not slide open if center was taller.
Looks like the rubber & frame is curved, but I don't think the glass is.
Mine is factory slider from a '93 Dakota 4x4....one piece center glass
Now remember, I'm measuring on the outside of the window...not the entire glass height itself, just what you can see from rear

Perfect Bryan. Much help as usual. The glass is 15 inches so that leaves 9/16 on either end that will be out of sight, and that is where the scratch is.:woot:
