this should be a sticky!
this should work on 02-04 vehicles. any overhead computer from those years should work i've been told.
i paid 137 on ebay for the overhead computer console (smaller one without sunglasses holder) with the auto dimming mirror. I will post later with directions on wiring that up.
This isn't really too hard to install. Pull hard on the old dome light to remove it. then unscrew the two phillips screws after you unplug the electrical connector. and throw that metal plate out, you won't need it. KEEP THE SCREWS!
Rough cut the headliner larger for the new black backing plate that should have come with your overhead console. Hold it as best you can so the screw holes as shown in pic line up with where the screws you just took out went. Fine trim it until the black mount ring sits flush. Be sure to cut a tad smaller so the black mount ring covers up the headlight cut marks.
Next run the harness lead. start at the mirror/console area and work back down the driver a-pillar area. use a t-27 torx to remove the handle and then the a-pillar molding as you will run your harness under that.
once the wiring is in place decent, you can put the harness for the mirror down toward mirror and then run the connector for the overhead console
toward the cutout direction. tap into the 3 wires on the stock dome light connector. simply match the colors to the colors on the new harness. yellow, pink and yellow/violet. then u can put the harness thru the black mounting ring and screw it down. all the rest of the connectors will be made elsewhere. install the overhead console and that part is done.
you might as well install the mirror and plug the connector into that to now. as all those connections will be made elsewhere as well.
next all wiring will be made near driver kick panel area aside from the ambient temp sensor.
then you attach the voilet/yellow lead to the central timer module box, you splice into that same color violet/yellow lead.
the orange lead you can connect to the connector behind the fuse panel (the one where you open the door)
The next two leads sure I could have hid better and what not, but honestly, who cares. the fuse panel covers it up anyways. if you want a more hidden power/ground lead wires then there is a ton of places you can ground and tap ign. switched power.
then ground the black/green lead.
the light blue/white lead... connect that to an empty spot on the fuse panel (again one you see when you open door and take off cover) that has power only when the ignition is on.
then you mount the ambient temp sensor.
UPDATE: I made a complete tutorial with pictures. Only thing i didnt take pictures of was just splicing leads from the existing dome light to the lead on the new overhead computer console. but just match color to color. can't go wrong there.
