what do i do to get rid of the 100 cut out on my 2000 dakota? its killing me!
only 98 and up is like that. 97 and down the speed sensor is in the trans stillThe speedometers are electronic and run off of a sensor and a tone ring, which is bolted to the ring gear in the differential. There are no speedometer gears and cables, like there used to be.
Correct. It still doesn't have a cable, though.only 98 and up is like that. 97 and down the speed sensor is in the trans still
So I was still at least 1/2 right. Or 1/2 wrong. I forget which. :jester:correct, no cable
Are you an optimist or a pessimist? 1/2 full or 1/2 empty? :funny:So I was still at least 1/2 right. Or 1/2 wrong. I forget which. :jester:
YES!Are you an optimist or a pessimist? 1/2 full or 1/2 empty? :funny:
you got your answer on the first page..... if you want to do it on the cheap you can find a used superchips 3715 for less than 150 bucks.its pretty self explanitory i would like to get it over 100 with out it cutting out and would like to do it with out messeing up the truck in the process by doing one of those quick fix mods that usually screws something up later on so im asking what needs to be done to avoid problems like that
and why does it matter so much? :huh: my truck, my money, my time and yes i may be a noob at this but at least im asking before i go and screw up the whole thing by trying some stupid thing i heard else where
I have the "pro package". It takes away all the limiters...:jester:

if you are not racing the truck then there is no need to modify it. it sounds like you just want to push a stock truck, most likely on stock tires and suspension, past its safe limit. and while it may be your truck, your money, and your time. its also someone elses life that you are risking. even on your "non public use road" people may have to risk their lives to come pull you out of the ditch you are stuck in. unless you plan on racing your truck at a track then this yet another pointless Dak-Dur threadits pretty self explanitory i would like to get it over 100 with out it cutting out and would like to do it with out messeing up the truck in the process by doing one of those quick fix mods that usually screws something up later on so im asking what needs to be done to avoid problems like that

You have anon-R/T dakota,can you even reach 100mph in your hunk of slow truck????if you are not racing the truck then there is no need to modify it. it sounds like you just want to push a stock truck, most likely on stock tires and suspension, past its safe limit. and while it may be your truck, your money, and your time. its also someone elses life that you are risking. even on your "non public use road" people may have to risk their lives to come pull you out of the ditch you are stuck in. unless you plan on racing your truck at a track then this yet another pointless Dak-Dur thread

:clap2::clap2::clap2:You got your answer on how to get it past 100 without cutting out.
I agree with blwn318 though....It's stock...who are you trying to impress!? If I were doing 100 all the time, I wouldn't have the clean driving record I have, and I probably wouldn't have the job that I have. I guess to some, both of those don't matter to them. :huh:
Just as blwn318 said, think of that nice family of four driving their nice vehicle, minding their own business being smashed and killed all because someone decided it would be fun to take their stock vehicle past its limits for a quick need for speed. I like going fast just as much as the next guy, but there's a time and place for it. Stop being so inconsiderate.

Exactly, right on.:clap2::clap2::clap2:
Nobody is ever trying to hurt someone else when they're driving like assholes on the street. Accidents happen, but being stupid just increases the chance of them.
Are your puncuation keys broken or something??? So when you're doing 100, where are you doing it and for how long?as for building the truck i plan on doing that but i want to figure out some stuff before i do and as driving down the road thae family of four is safe because cruise control is set at 2 mph below speed limmit because i dont feel like dealing with cops who can potentialy be ass holes like the deputy (not all cops are assholes just some) and usually the ones who speed arent the ones you have to worry about its the ones on there phones and not paying attention and i love to go fast but not on the highway
