Started tearing it apart a little early so I can take my time and clean it up a little. We made a tent to do the swap in with light and a propane heater...

what even happend to it? oh how are you seeing 11lbs of boost? you have that 4'' intake but are all the pullys stock size? when i first got my truck done it was paxtons stock pullys-intake but when it was cold and i first hammered on it i would see 9 to 10lbs.I asked about it today and he said it was out getting machine work done. I dont know exactly what hes having done since I havent talked to him in a while:huh:
thanks joe. i would love to bump up the boost to 13 14lbs but i dont know how long that would last lol.main bearings went bye bye. From day one I saw 13-14psi without the restrictor. I have the 4" intake and 9" filter with a 3.2" pulley instead of the 3.25.
not mine lol dannysdamn already!! that sucks man
how about you bump up the boost and I leave mine and we see who's last longer??? lolthanks joe. i would love to bump up the boost to 13 14lbs but i dont know how long that would last lol.
Ill ask about it today.Do you by chance have an IAT reading? I'd be interested to see the meth temp drop instrumented. It's encouraging that you are making that much power without an I/C already.
just up and down my street. Couldnt tell a huge difference but the pedal doesnt move much loli think 700 is my hp goal lol. but thats with a 200 shot. i cant wait to see what 700hp does in these trucks. glad this thing is finally coming together.
did you drive it yet with your brake upgrade? im curious how it feels.
i love when brakes feel that way. i was always a fan of dodge brakes compared to chevy but i thought maybe it was just me. then when i read an old review of the dakota nad they talked about how much better the brakes were.just up and down my street. Couldnt tell a huge difference but the pedal doesnt move much lol
I was seeing 13lbs with the stock pulleys and a small filter. Not sure how the hell that happened. I was spinning up to 6k no problem. Changed to the other pulleys, 3.5 and 8.25 and I still see 13lbs in first gear, however I was having tensioner issues since the belt i was using was way to long, tensioner would flip and stay, thus only getting about 10psi in the later gears. Fixed that but now I don't have a track to go to cause its cold as shit. I would like to move my PCM and get that 4" filter done, oh well.main bearings went bye bye. From day one I saw 13-14psi without the restrictor. I have the 4" intake and 9" filter with a 3.2" pulley instead of the 3.25.
It shouldnt handle any different then before maybe a little better with less weight up front. Not sure how it would do around a track.i love when brakes feel that way. i was always a fan of dodge brakes compared to chevy but i thought maybe it was just me. then when i read an old review of the dakota nad they talked about how much better the brakes were.
do you think this thing is going to handle good? like most people build for strip or for handling. do you think it will go around a track nicely?
thats what i was curious about. besides the LCA and springs is the rest pretty much stock? It shouldnt handle any different then before maybe a little better with less weight up front. Not sure how it would do around a track.
suspension:thats what i was curious about. besides the LCA and springs is the rest pretty much stock?
oooooowwww good question!!! :waiting:now the real question arises. would you do this type of build again?
No C notch?suspension:
hotchkis (removed adjustment plates in rear)
DJM 2" drop hangers
QA1's
western chassis 2" control arms
caltracs
It would have been easier and a ton cheaper if I sarted with a more common vehicle but its so much sweeter when you have something most dont. So you answer your question, yes.now the real question arises. would you do this type of build again?
