and even that can throw you off to depending on the weather.

Yes, this is true. You should make sure to right down all the variable on your timeslip like air temp, track temp, humidity, DA (if you need to), time of day, wind, and whether it was sunny/cloudy/night during the pass. All of these things can make a big difference. Also should make note of what rpm you are launching at and how much gas you have approximately.

But all in all who the hell cares if you're winning, lol.

A friend just built a sbc for a Fiero owner. I think it made 400 no spray on the engine dyno. He said the owner was gonna spray it. That's nuts.

Did it have the stock tire size, ie small/skinny? I think he said the guy was gonna run it like that.
ya, i must say i was pretty surprised by it.. and yes, it as stock wheels. sleeper i guess you ould say. red paint with the gloss clear fading...

Whats your best 1/8 or 1/4 et and speed with it. and do you know the weight
lets see here.. i belvie it was
1/8th mile: 10.260 @ 69mph? the time slips re at home, so im ot to sure. and i belive the weight it 4636lbs

If you had the power that the dyno said you did you would easily be in the 9's int he 8th

I have a quad cab and probably have hardly over 200 to the wheels and I run mid 9's

And yes Moparsz i know I'm slow, lol.
ture.. but im probavbly heavier than you.. IE: sound system, cabin area, 3rd row.. etc

You didn't drop in power the old numbers were off. And the numbers make sense because you made them make sense according to the dyno.
that may be true, but with the numbers the companies sa y i"should" see, it added up with the results fomr the dyno..

This could also be a good representation of what you have^^^ don't worry about the dyno anymore unless you are doing tuning. That's what they are pretty much for, a tool for tuning. You can have much more fun at the track and even win some money if you get good at it. I suggest you start going there to judge how much of an effect your mods make.
im not a big track racer tho.. or a racer at all. i mean, ive got a durango, with a 4.7 not to say it cant be a beast (it is, lol) but its a mild racer and a much better show car. and a DD.

Any numbers the companies put up on their products, divide it by 4 and then you'll be close.

ya, i mean i figured they were inflated some.. i guess thebest idea would be to go back to the oringinal dyno and see what i put down. hopefully i will be more impressed/happy with that one.

**would wide band effect anything at all, b/c IIRC, they didnt use it on the first one, but did on this run.. talke with some friends and they said they were also unhapp with the results. so dyno error? dyno driver error? PC error? who knows...

Wideband wouldn't effect anything. Numbers were high last time and I honestly think hey are a little more realistic this time, maybe a little low. Now when you get those cams in you might be a little bit closer to the original dyno.:mullet:

on my race calculator on your times shows
Your HP computed from your vehicle ET is 217.25 flywheel HP and 195.525 rear wheel HP.

damnit, not what i want to hear....

I've always heard 20-25%.
and thats what i used in my math.. a 20% drivetrain loss. equating to about 287hp... using the part manufactuer's hp ratings (slightly skewed.....) so im still using my 235whp as a my main one.. also considering the fact that some other guys were a little unhappy with their performance too.

I'd say the first one was a fluke. That's right about where I'd think a 4.7 would be with those mods. You have to remember stock their only what, 175-180 at the wheels? And whatever numbers any company gives you about their mods is irrelivant because as we all know, they're crap (the numbers, not the products(usually)). Be happy, you're putting down alright numbers for whats been done, I mean, you've got more power than me.... for now :stirthepo

hahaah for now.. cant wait to get back on the mustang dyno, to see whats up.. i should be up atleast to 245 with the intake mod.. we'l see... maybe ill do the cams and show some real numbers.. until then, im putting down 235whp and 293wt!!!!!!!!!!!!

Spence ..... if you did not put the stickers that came with your mods on the outside of your truck they do not take effect. :nana:

OMG MY 3.9 made 600 HP

ok I stole the dyno sheet :D

Well duh! big heavy wheel and tire combos like that sap the power...

oh you meant the sticker.... yea that sucks too

I mean sucks power :jester:

hahaha ya.. the funny thing is though, the first dyno run i had the 22's on. this time i added the h/o intake and had the stock wheels on. so i figured to make around 240ish horses at least... not 198... wtf? cant decide if i want to take the dub stickers off or not..

Dynos work off Torque and RPM. Horsepower is an imaginary number devised through the sorcery of mathematics. .

if the 22's have a greater diameter you might have been placing more torque on the dyno thus the higher results.

that makes sense.. but ive always heard that bigger wheels take away power b/c there heavy.. there not much bigger than the stock ones, jsut more metal.. but i see what you saying
