I too have the T/C lift, which is currently (I believe) the only lift kit available for a Gen I rango/kota. I think I paid ~$1300 for the kit and another $1000 to have it installed (I had the money at the time and I was too busy with work). It certainly leaves much to be desired, but if you don’t want to throw on shackles and crank up the torsion bars, or lift the body, it’s about the only "easy" way to fit 33”+ tires.
An SAS with new leafs or coil-overs is definitely the way to go IF you are really good at suspension geometry and fabrication, or you have really deep pockets. Also, one BIG benefit of an SAS is that you get to dump the stock upper ball joints that have a reputation of breaking!
