I raced a GTP when I had my '97 Cobra when it was stock. The GTP really suprised me, I pulled on him hard thru 1st and 2nd but he hung pretty good. I had him by about 2 car lengths stop light to stop light. Pretty impressive, I've noticed they have been coming out with more bolt ons for the GTP's(supercharger pulleys, chip, etc). I considered getting one before I got my DAK. Very nice sporty cars.

Ya, Iv got a friend with a Regal GS (same supercharged 3.8 as in the GTP) that runs 14's flat....out of a buick! those little blown engines can run....the pulleys and things have bin out for a whiel....I think the Supercharger is just an Eaton M90

im not cocky when i drive my stang, unless someone is cocky to me. then its on. funny thing is that my stang is ugly, lots of litle surface rust patches and couple of deep rotted out spots, a dented fender, primered hood, but its fast. i ran a 12.9 spinning my street tires pass the 60ft. got kicked out cause no roll bar and compromissing body panels...lol

They kicked you out for no rollbar on a 12.9? WTF?

Some tracks have a rule that if your running under 13's with a unibody structure then you must have a roll bar.

Yea, I think the people I like beating the most are the mustang guys cus from what I have seen, they are the cockiest guys on the road.
For the most part i will agree with you on that even tho i have an 83 stang (well a project me and my dad share) i was drivin it and a stang caught up with me and wanted to race and my dad was with me well finally i did and i whooped him til my dad told me to let off. (i didn;t get in trouble either lol my dad is cool like that).

Man, you never know what you are going to run into on the street. I wouldn't call my vert a sleeper (with the roll bar, brakes, slight lump the cam and the blower whine), but it is pretty tame when you look at it.

If I have my drs on though it will run mid-11's at over 120. It definitely suprises alot of people.

But, there are definitely faster cars out there. (probably a few on this site!) My goal for this was 500 rwhp, mid 11's and passing CA smog. Goal accomplished, time for a new goal! lol

I love my Dak as well, but would have loved to get an R/T if I didn't need four doors.

I would love to, but we have 14 month old twins and a third ( :jawdrop: ) on the way in September.

Money is tight, but at the very minimum I might be able to swing a timing chain replacement, along with the 'necessary' parts to make sure the truck is reliable long-term since the front of the engine will be apart anyway.

Things like: (since the engine will already be apart)
H.O. cams
H.O. intake
bigger T.B.
4.10's

After all, those things should be replaced since the truck has 125k miles on it so that it will be reliable for me for the next 4 or 5 years, right? lol

<being sarcastic of course>

I would love to do more, but doubt that I will be able to swing the money now that we are putting money into things like 529 accounts for the babies for college.

If I didn't need a four door, I'd have loved to have gotten a c/c R/T.

Maybe someday.

Well just take another look at that car. It has street tires and it looks to be non-drag suspension

You are correct, sir. Griggs suspension (handling, no weight transfer), rear brakes too big to run 15" wheels (so I have to run ET Streets and not slicks), 3500+ pounds without driver, and me driving. :biggthump

This engine in a coupe with slicks and a good driver would probably be a mid-10 second car.

But, rollons are a blast. It does pull hard and handles very well.

I had a coupe set up for more of a drag suspension when I was younger, and I didn't like it at all. Got better traction, but when I was not at the track it was not much fun.
