I'm single but I have a friend who's wife is horrible with money.

He's pretty good, if he wants something he'll research it and look at comparable products so when he goes to the store it's for something that he already knows he is going to buy and won't normally get anything else. She, on the other hand, is an impulse shopper. She'll walk into Ross for a cheap baking pan or something and come out with $75 worth of stuff that is mostly garbage(they have SOME things worth getting, their cheap, huge vases make for great fish tanks). She's one of the only people I know that can go into Thrift Town and walk out with $100+ of clothes and junk on a regular basis. If she bought quality stuff it'd be a different story but she spends money on cheap chinese crap and just ends up with a bunch of stuff to throw away in a few months.

I tend to research and then get the best bang for the buck. I needed a lathe but I didn't want to spend the money on a big one that I didn't need to get the precision that the mini lathes lack. So, I got a mini lathe and made new bushings for it with a friends large lathe and now I have what I wanted in a unit that I can put into the apartment without the front office wondering wtf. I did the same with my drill press too.

I haven't worked in a year other than odd jobs here and there to fight the bordom. She prefers I stay home and work on the home and keep things in order. She seems to think she makes more than enough for the two of us and such. I think she is nuts but she does bring home close to 2k a month and we own all five of our vehicles and the bills are electric internet and cell, so really not much. As far as the money spender goes....that would be me lol.

I actually have 4 bank accounts. 1, is my joint account with my girlfriend, we put our bill money in there to pay the bills we have. 2, is my own main account, for when i but things at stores, or online or whatever. 3, is my in case shit happens savings account, like if i were to lose my job, or a close family member needs the money legitly. 4, that is my private "secrect" account. Its were most of my money is stored, and the only other person that knows it open is my ol man, and he wont tell anybody. My girlfriend is so shitty with money its pathetic. She always wants to run, and buy shit, stuff we dont need. This is why she only has one joint account with me, and that is our bills account. She always bitches, saying im so tight when it comes to money, and that I cant take it to my grave with me so why dont WE spend it. I told her, I put the money in those accounts, and I decide when and where its spent. Some woman will never learn..

My old lady just got a promotion do to someone doing something very bad in the company so now she is making double what she made before. I said cool Goodwill is hiring I can work there part time and make some extra cash...she didn't like the idea of it but i applied anyway I hope I get it. I figure with her making the big bucks and me making the little bucks we can build that garage she is always talking about.

I hope, for her sake, she comes to her senses and goes out and finds a real bread winner. Even if it means a few affairs with some crappy guys 1st.

she is the one that is giving him the chance to take care of things at the house. What is wrong with that ....it is no different than a woman staying home to take care of things while the guy works. Friends of ours the husband is out of work and since the wife was making 2x what he was, he is staying home and taking care of the home front and is also keeping the 2 kids out of daycare, and home being raised by family.

I really hope your caveman comment was directed as a joke.

Well to cool the ignorant remarks here is how it all happened. I was put out of work after being run down (by accident) by some lady in a saab and wound up breaking my hip. My GF is a manager at a good reasturant and also works part time as a manager at another place. With both of us working at the time we never had much of a relationship. After I got hurt and was home we discovered we saw each other more and while I was home the dogs were much happier and things were getting done like the laundry and the cleaning i could do while i hobbled. After i got to the point where I could go back to work she refused to allow me to go back to work stating that she would rather I stay home and watch the dogs fix the vehicles and fix the place up rather than pay people to do it and at the same time still be able to have time together. I did get my part time job and it is during the same time she works her part time job so we ride in together and ride home together. Happy compromise in my book. And Saul you don't know me and I have never talked down to you. Wishing ill will on anyone especially people you don't know will only bring bad Karma on to you.

Glad I never gave him codes for what ever downloads he was looking for. Some comments are just never funny, like the ones he threw out there.

The Rockband codes were for my blind, deaf and mute 8 year old son - Jackass. :rant:
