anyone have any dyno numbers 4 5peed 318 dakota??????????
not bashing...but where did you find this? That makes sense...for something that is only rated at 600hp there sure seems to be plenty of fast ass sports cars with probably 1000hp/tq or so that aren't having any issues. That 1000hp/tq is based on a 3rd gear pull not the 5th or 6th gear.
well the closest gear that gives a 1:1 ratioMaybe you misunderstood. If a car is making 1000hp/tq, typically dyno pulls are 3rd gear, correct? Possibly 4th with a 6 speed...as far as I know it's usually 3rd though.
Oh, I was saying that based on what you said, that's all. Just agreeing with you, really.well the closest gear that gives a 1:1 ratio
i understood what you meant. what i mean it where did you find the info. i have searched and searched but cant find anything that states how a manufacture states how they determine the power handling capability of the tranny.
that works i guess. :jester:Oh, I was saying that based on what you said, that's all. Just agreeing with you, really.
Sure it would, but...who's really nearing 600 horsepower or ft/lbs of torque even in 3rd or 4th gear on a typical dyno pull...not many of us, that's for sure. The number of us that actually would consider a manual transmission swap AND are making that kind of power is even smaller...seems pretty much like a 'non issue' to me. Maybe for other crowds it's more important though, but if that's the case I'm sure they have that sort of information, or the resources to figure it out pretty easily. If you wanted to know badly enough you could probably just call Tremec tomorrow.that works i guess. :jester:
i just wish the info i am looking for was easier to find...i think it would help others in finding a tranny for their apps.
well im not specifying the 600 hp club...it would help solve the "fighting" or " misinforming" like what was happening in the 5.9 manual thread with the nv3500Sure it would, but...who's really nearing 600 horsepower or ft/lbs of torque even in 3rd or 4th gear on a typical dyno pull...not many of us, that's for sure. Ya that would definitely answer some NV questions. I still don't think I'd want to put that tranny behind my engine...even if I knew it'd hold up to the power. But I guess some people would be happy with it.well im not specifying the 600 hp club...it would help solve the "fighting" or " misinforming" like what was happening in the 5.9 manual thread with the nv3500
that a pretty good idea, though im sure my t56 will be able to handle what my 4.7, even if boosted could throw at it.
You MD boys are crazy. Half the sweet ass rides in the club on the east coast are in MD. Why weren't those 318 5 speed guys at Carlisle?318/5spd, stock heads, 220 cam, 4bbl M1, 2.5 duals, 53 stock tb, V1 @ 10psi.
We have two other 318/5spds with 210 cams, stock heads, 2bbl M1, and MP PCM. They both put down 265rwhp.
