Thanks for your constructive comments clint.

it is constructive. its explaining to you that your idea of a "less restrictive intake" is not working.

look, is this what you want me to say? "hey man that is the coolest install ive seen. i bet you get another 25 horsepower out of it. and your idea with the funnel, genius. i dont know why it didnt come from the factory that way. i bet if you presented this to k&n you could get a job in the r&d department. way to go man!!"

this reminds me of this kid who brought his jeep over to go wheelin and he made a snorkel beacause he saw our PVC ones. well it was on a wrangler and the manifold is on the driver side but the intake goes over to the passenger. well he ran a 2" shop vac hose from the airbox, over the motor, through the driver finder and zip tied to the windshield wiper with Great Stuff sealing all the leaks. then he didnt know why his jeep didnt have the power to go above 30mph

How is it more restrictive? I see it as a straight shot of cool air right into the airbox. The funnel just helps "funnel" the air in the right direction. Did I even say what horsepower gain I would get? No. I put this up for guys who may want to do this on their own. Now you're being facetious clint. "Way to go man!!" Ya know what? I'm done with you no more replies to you. Trying to start and trying to win an internet fight... Wow...

i agree, how is it less restrictive. its more restrictive. your goal it to make it less restricted and you failed. just take it off your truck and you will keep from embarrassing yourself the next time you bring it to jiffy lube for an oil change.

clint......... what would the internet be without n00bs like this posting on web forums? he obviously lacks the ability to fabricate worthy parts and was posting in hopes that no one would pick it apart and make him realize he just wasted hours, cause i'm sure thats what it took him, to zip tie some garden hose into his truck. i agree with you completely but we can't run them all off so quickly. cause then who would we make fun of??

maybe he'll hang around like Bondslayer and provide years of entertainment........

Hehehehe... You're a real funny guy blow...err I mean Blwn. So I guess all you ultra mechanics out there getting ready to tear my posts apart were born mechanics? No way of learning from your mistakes? Or learning as you go along? Anyway have fun making fun of people you haven't seen or met. Real nice. Another one trying to start and win an internet fight...LOL...LOL...LOL...

oh wow you are the FIRST person to ever say blow instead of blwn. good job.

none of us claimed to be ultra mechanics. a lot of us learned on our trucks as we went along. i'm still learning.

however there are a few things that are basic mechanic level. like your intake. A: you really didn't accomplish much by putting that hose in. it still runs through a restrictive filter and tube into the intake. B: that is some of the most half ass'd shit i have ever seen. take a look at the proven after market products out there. none of them look like your creation. there is a reason for that.

and finally.... its the internet ass clown. learn to take a joke and not get all dick hurt over a few comments. this wouldn't have evolved into this had you not taken the earlier stated constructive remarks.

thanks for playing.

BTW: there is a fight club page on here........... feel free to find me there

You guys are rough!

No one is trying to be a dick here...i don't think. although that plastic pussy is begging for a huge cock!

seriously though, it's a good idea, nice attempt! constructive comments--your stock air box pulls air in from the inner fender, it's already "cold" when compared to engine bay temps. as for "ram air" you're not going to get any from through the grill like that, because the grill is a giant "air dam" and will greatly slow down the incoming air, AND make it turbulant...not good for smooth laminar airflow through an intake tract, like it would get from the stock location of the inner fender.

Does your truck have fog lights? if not, then your front bumper should have the recess for where they would normally be, right?

cut that out, slightly larger than the actual opening would be for the fog light, and then cut a hole in your inner fender the same size as your dryer duct tubing. then cut a hole in the bottom of your intake box, and route that down through the new hole in your inner fender and out to the new hole you just cut in your front bumper. THAT will give you cool, un-restricted, laminar air flow that MIGHT have a slight ram air effect.

That funnel is NOT allowing you to force more air into the tube--here, I'll show you...

take the funnel off, and set it vertical over a bucket or something. take a coffee can or small bucket and fill it with water. now, dump it all at once into the funnel...what happens? the water sits in the funnel until it can all flow through the restriction. the same thing is happening to the air hitting the funnel as it faces forward. the air hits it, and sit there until it can flow through the restriction of the funnel.

Like I said...A for effort and ingenutiy though. D+ on execution. Sorry!

they instaled one of those on horsepower tv. when they built a ricer honda civic. you might get colder air but it wont make any different when it takes 10 years to get to the engine.
