why didnt you tell us about mopars in the park? where was that? and what other shows? this show there will be a bunk of us dak-dur guys!!!

Cloned I must have walked right by you....

I didn't get there until 1:30 and parked my Dak by the guy with the 426 bucket. It was disappointing there were no Dakotas or Durangos shown. Weather was great, food vendor was a rip, they won't ask him back.

Clint, you gotta take some time off the NWS threads... :jester: if you look down 6 threads below here, there it is..!
We will expect you in Belvidere. :D

i was there but not with a dakota.

Any of you guys meeting up before the show on sunday? I'll pull my truck out of car show retirement to make this a dakota meet basically. I just need to know more information like where its at, how much its gonna be, if you guys are gonna meet up and covoy in. Im always up for a car show weekend thats what summer is all about!!!! :mullet:

I might not have been there at 1:30 because I decided to leave the car show to get something to eat. Anyone that paid the $6.00 for a basic chicken sandwich, $4.00 for a brats, $3.00 for a hotdog and a $1.00 for a bag of plain potatoe chips were out of their loopy mind!!! I saw those prices, looked at my friend and said lets head over Rould Lake. He agreed with me so i left. Got back at around 2:15.

I was parked next to the 2 purple Dodge Chargers, 1 was the same year as mine 1971 the other was a 1972. I was right next to the entrance of the show. BTW, I saw your truck several times, infact, you drove right by me because I was sitting on the pavement in my chair trying to get some shade with a nice breeze where the entrance was at, I had a friend with me.

I also saw another Black CC Dakota do a uturn at the entrance, very shiney truck!! Maybe another member on here???

I didn't eat there, just heard about it...

I went into Dog & Suds & got some good food.

Yes, I recall seeing a comfortable group of people facing the building near the entrance. I just came in and did a quick look over the show and had to get back home.

scroll down to the event Flyer and see the front and rear for information. There is a map but if you get to Belvidere almost everyone knows where the Boone Co. Fair Grounds is located. Spectator entry is $3. Sunday show entry is $10 and you are expected to fill out a judging list for classes. All trophys (this year we have wall plaque's again by popular demand) are decided by pier review counting, not judges. In the last 3 years I've gotten a 1st and 2nd in class because nobody else was in the class. :woot:

But, I did wash it....:jester:

Looks like I'll be in the Modified Dakota/Durango class. The drive is an hour and a half. I'll talk with my girl, see if shes up for it.

Don't go I-90....

Take 173 from Zion all the way to Poplar Grove then Rt-76 south to Boone Co. Fairgrounds in Belvidere. Nice drive, some traffic, lot's of small towns and places to stop. And it will probably take less time and no tolls...! :mullet:

x2^^ thats the way to go. my mom drives to 294 and willow every morning from belviere to work construction.

Talked with the g/f today, shes all for the day. I'll get there pretty early, gotta love those portable GPS systems. I'll be leaving here at around 7am and be out there between 8:30-9AM. How many dakotas/durangos show up to this event for the stock and modified class?

i should be there no truck though, and ill be the guy walking with one arm.

Cloned it is never the same....

here is the link to last years event pix...

it will take a while to go thru them all but I don't think there were more than 6 Dakotas and no Durangos. This guy was my favorite, he had a roll pan with a very nice square tips duel set up thru the pan, sweet. AAR graffic he had a local guy in a NW suburb make for him. Just a generally nice truck, took home a trophy.

That flat black truck in the back ground is a friend of mines. His name is Terry, should be at the show next weekend. Ill run through the photos, that truck there is a sweet looking truck, definately modified lol.

so how many people went to the track? im pissed i had to miss out.

also this is a reminder for everyone to get to the fair grounds tomorrow!!

I just washed the dak about 30 minutes ago then, it started to rain! So much for the weather guru's saying "saturday mostly cloudy with no rain expected...." Least its not a heavy rain just a little drizzle. I'll be there tomorrow, looking forward to it! :mullet:

BTW, tomorrow's forecast says:

Sunday: Partly sunny, with a high near 74. Calm wind becoming north around 5 mph.

Temps have been between 71-75* the last 4 days.

Looks like tomorrow is gonna be a great day for a car/truck show. :woot:

I was the only Dak that raced today. There where about 12 Mopars that showed up. My truck is an absolute mess, between the rain and rubber I have a lot of cleaning to do. Tomorrow looks like great weather. I plan on showing up around 10:30 or so.

i burnt a valve on thrusday and the truck was running pretty ruff like it was missing on one cylinder but today i beat on it cause i was pissed and now it runs like its on 4 cylinders... i also hear some valvetrain issues... so i will not be driving that to the show tomarrow but i may drive my dads 95 ram. if i do i will be there around 11 or 12.

suggestion: for those of you who need to clean your trucks, there is a really good carwash right down the street from the fair grounds that i always go to. if you get the $22 wash and tip the guy 3 bucks when your done you will not be disapointed. thats what i always did with my truck. those mexicans clean trucks real good.
