well over a month later but SHE RUNS!! just been doing some break in driving bt damn shes quick. cant wait to hammer on it!!

she does run rough and she was running REAL rich earlier in the night "spittin and sputterin". ill have to check it in the morning and see how much black smoke she dumps out. it also has a hard time idling.

i think its still kinda learning cause it gets better throughout the night but does anyone think im ganna need a tune? i plan on doing one later "next spring" but does anyone think ill need one to get it to run right?

10.3:1 compression

im not 100% on the cam. i forget hehehe

i know its .575 lift with 1.7s.
When I was cam shopping I was told that anything greater than a .545 lift with the 1.6 rockers the valves would hit the piston

you'd be surprised what a good tune can do, example my plugs were black before sct and now are just right with sct

quick update

this thing runs GREAT. i put the "out of the box" tune on it from a SCT but even before that the pcm learned wtf was going on and leaned it self out. deputy also helped me to set my TB so it would idle and shes working like a clock.

i sprayed it a few times now and the 100 shot isn't as noticeable as it use to be but its defiantly there. im REALLY hoping to be in the low 12s with the 100 shot and after the tune next spring ill get a progressive controller, nitrous plate and MDS ignition retard so ill be doing a 200 shot.

1st gear is gone. from a dead stop it will burn off the tires. these nittos use to hook like crazy but once they got wore down to slicks they got ROCK hard and have no traction. it will slam second around corners and hang it WAY out, i love it. the trans also shift EXTREMELY slow. fixing that and a stall would give me A LOT faster e-t. caltracs will be mandatory also

right now im broke from this motor and owe all my money to it. work has been slow so buying all the additional parts is not working out right now.

here is a the build sheet.

forged eagle crank
forged H-beam scat rods w/ arp bolts
forged 10.3:1 ross pistons
internally balanced
main girdle
high volume oil pump
non ported r/t heads
.700 lift springs
.575 comp cam
crowler adj 1.7 roller rockers
double roller timing set
mopar balancer
M1 intake
F&b 58mm TB
ford racing 30lb injectors
headman shorty headers
3" flowmaster w/out cat
mopar pcm w/ SCT waiting for custom tune

Sounds cool but why are you running such a big ass throttle body on there? 58mm seems kinda big for it. Maybe a 53 would be better?

600 hp requires at least 1500cfm. the 58mm at 1100cfm would be needed to get close to 500hp with out boost or spray.

granted these are carbed LA blocks but...they both used a pair of 750 demon carbs....1500cfm total.

Dude, did you not receive the memo? He has four hundred and eight massive centimeters to the third power! That requires fifty eight milimeters of velocitic velocity flow volume capacities!
