One thing at a time! :jester:

I've already picked out a Dual Exhaust Kit and a set of Ceramic Headers :D

Still up in the air about the mufflers though.

Those headers would look sexy in the bay.

I wonder how well a muffler like that flows, I don't get why the pipes aren't connected other than for quietness, I'd think they would build up a little back pressure.

My favorite Mopar mechanic here has a '85 Ram he bought new, then restored. I try to get a pic.
At least you already know a pinstriper... :D

Ok, I didn't do much to it today.

*Just painted the underside of the Hood

*Started painting the back of the cab below the back glass where the person who painted it the first time didn't take the bed off and just sprayed between the bed and the cab.

*Zip tied the new fuel lines together and fished them into the frame rail.

So all I need to do now to wrap up the fuel system is to slip the clips over the fuel lines and bolt them back to the frame, then hook up the rubber hose connecting the two sets of fuel lines together and the ends of the line to the fuel pump and fuel filter. :woot:

Ok yesterday I went to the junkyard to see what I could find and I managed to find a 88 Ram that hadn't even been touch yet. So I robbed the hood hinges off it (mine had long springs on it like a garage door opener) and this ram had the coil spring like on our Dak/Durs, The Taillights, Hood Release Cable and latch, and brake pedal pad.

I'm gonna try to go back later and hopefully rob some more stuff off it.

Today:

1. I replaced the hood hinges and I must say it's nice to be able to open and close the hood w/ one hand now.

2. Installed my clear side markers

3. Pryed the old badges off so I could replace them w/ some better ones.

4. Opened up the Grille, Grille Inserts, and Turnsignals and peiced them together.

5. Installed the clips and bolted the fuel line to the frame.

6. Started hooking the fuel hose to the fuel line (ran out of clamps)

7. Painted the water pump.

8. Finished painted the back of the cab and started on the front of the Bed.

I'm gonna pick up some new radiator hose, some more hose clamps, some more paint, and some double sided tape tommorow and try to wrap up the the fuel system, the badging, and the painting.

Yup, going Friday to pick up a dash and some door panels for it. Now I gotta at least paint the interior. The dash I'm getting is blue/gray color. I'm trying to decide wether to try and dye them black or just leave them. If I just leave them I'm thinking of painting the sheet metal white like the outside of the truck and have a white and blue interior.

Oh well, let me see if I can wrap up the fuel system, the oil leaks, and put some plug wire seperators on before it gets dark.

Well 3 steps forward and 1 step back.

1) Finished painted the front of the bed

2) Installed Plug Wire Separators

3) FINISHED FUEL SYSTEM!!!!

What went wrong:

I had rented a tq wrench from the O'Reillys that just opened so I could tq my valve covers and oil pan down to spec. Well I started tightening down the valve cover bolts and I noticed that my valve cover flange was starting to flex. I though that was odd cause it only called for 80inlbs (or 80 x .080 = 6ftlbs). I thought that the valve cover flange shouldn't be flexing over a measly 6lbs but it finally clicked. So I moved to the next one and started tighting it, it started doing the same thing but before this one could click the bolt snapped off in the head.

So now I have to drill out the hole in the head and re-tap it.

What do you guys normally do? Do you just hand tighten it or do you tq it down and maybe I just got a bad tq wrench. Mind you the store just open so I doubt the tq wrench has had a chance to be rented out.
