Made my first mods over the weekend since i got it. First mod was putting in the modified TB i got from Dwight. Second was replaced my clutch fan with an e-fan. Very impressed with both mods. deffinetly made a difference. Thanks again Dwight!

Next mods... upgrading the ignition system....

get a cold air kit next too. then take the intake off and port the crap out of it. next then is heads, work on smoothing things out. the smoother you make the transition from one part to the next, youll keep the air velocity up, and you will notice a nice improvement. the runners on the intake, versus the heads, and the heads to the exhaust manifolds leaves alot of room in there for improvement. then work on the exhaust system.

tip for the ignition..
IMO: med wires 8.8's, new cap, rotor, bosche+2's one heat range colder than stock, and get a pertronix coil. hard wire it in. thats what i did for mine. took off the stock connector, made up two new connectors on the ends of the wires, and attached it to the coil. runs like a charm. http://www.jegs.com/i/Pertronix/751/60115/10002/-1

First thing is not to listen to realdeal,he is an idiot!
second don't waste money on msd ignition boxs or coils, get some Taylor spiro pro wires, they are pre-cut,silicone and the ends won't tear off when you remove them. Next get a brass contact cap and rotor like a Napa echlin set, then get some NGK 4291 plugs. They are one range colder but still projected tip for better cumbustion unlike short tip autolites.+2's or +4 plugs are just snake oil don't waste the money.

Don't bother with the heads or porting the stock intake total waste of time.
Just get a mopar PCM or a tuner like superchips or sct, good exhaust and good coated headers.Get some 1.7 ratio rockers for good low end torque and they will work with a cam later.Later on down the road get a set of the EQ heads, and a decent cam around the 210-220 duration at .050" range, get a M-1 intake manifold. When you get ready for more than that then see us again.

LOL, I was wondering if I was alone on those sentiments.

I guess it is a 3.9 though.:D

What's the plug # on those 4291's? I ran zfr7f ngk's(honda marine plugs for .035 gap)on the 408 for engine dyno. Ther're just like the zfr7f-11's but for less gap. Less strap to have to cut back too.

yay, i feel so loved...

fuck u

Sorry, but I have to disagree with that part, I've been through so many Taylors it isn't funny. I've used the grease, I've been gentle, and they still rip the connector out sometimes. Almost seems like you could shake em and the damn thing would fall out.

I still run em though. :funny: I think I'll try MSD's next though.

the fuck did i say that got your nuts twisted? anyone knows that when you do some of the things THAT I SUGGESTED, its bound to free up some ponies...and if you read anything related to engines, you might see that im right. ...but believe what you want.

i dont find it ignorance. i think your making more of a deal than you need to

You don't understand the things you suggested about porting (smoothing) anything.... there's more to it. CSA, venturi size relative to valve job and valve diameter, velocity in fps, velocity distribution, and friction which accounts for roughly 1% of cfm potential.

While I continue to learn and read, I've had my 18 months worth of machining, engine building, theory, design, porting, etc. 30K later with a 4.0. Start asking questions instead of answering them incorrectly. If you want, get a $120 subscription to Race Engine Technology by professor Blair. For free, you can log onto the Speed Talk forums where a lot of leaders in the industry of motorsports have intelligent conversation.

I get annoyed at babbling about things you don't understand well.

And the same exact post EVERY time he posts any opinions to anyone.

haha now i dont know what the fuck to do! lol... and yes it is a 3.9... i know its not a v8 therefore im not putting thousands of dollars into it... just want to get as much power out of it as a can while still keeping a daily that is half decent on gas.
