got a V6 Quad Cab and lowered it with the Hotchkis TVS all around. I just purchased new 20's about a year ago and have had a vibration in the rear ever since. I have taken it back to the tire shop a couple of times thinking that the wheels were off balance, but they always come back as being spot on. I talked with the tech and he was telling me there might be an issue with the drive line? since it is almost 4" drop in the back (3.??) I may have some binding on the carrier bearing. has anyone had any experience with this or can offer some advice? Thanks.

I think i have same issue you are having. When i am on the gas i get a small vibration noise and when u let off it goes away.
I have the same issue. get in the gas and the vibration gets really bad, let off and it gets manageable.

As for the pinion angle that is what I was thinking at first and then noticed that mine has a 2 part drive shaft. only had single shafts before and have no experience with carrier bearings and the additional angle. would the shim correct this still?

stylin.com has them!

Sounds like this is what we both need.

Skyjacker Axle Shims attach the appropriate degree shims to the leaf springs for the purpose of correcting driveline angles on lifted applications. If you’re hearing a grinding noise coming from your driveshaft and it seems to be vibrating, then a set of axle shims is what you need. Skyjacker’s axle shims are made out of aluminum alloy with a pre-drilled hole for your center pin. They are offered in several different degrees.

so, since I lowered the truck and all of the tech articles that I have seen are for raised I should reverse the shim? (dumb question, but want to get this right) another thought was should I look for a spacer for the carrier bearing mount?

OK update to this story. I put 2 degree shims in over the weekend and it took care of about 95% of the vibration, but still have a bit of one. am thinking that I have a off round set of tires, or the bushing in the drive line have been shot since I have riden like this for over a year. so, if anyone has this problem seriously look at getting a set of shims they are really easy to install and make a world of difference!
