how was yours acting before the new coil?
i work 2nd shift, so a little before i would punch, i would go start the truck. when i would come back outside it was idling like shit. pop, pop, run, pop, run, etc. smelled very strong odor of gas as well...

I use the Borg Warner Select, I find them at O'Reilly's. IIRC they didn't list them for the Dakota, you have to use Ram.
Brass inserts, reasonably priced.

and im not just asking darren...do any of you have suggestions for cap & rotor? also should i go ahead and swap out the coil? how hard is it to swap out the coil?
NAPA cap and rotor works just fine....just make sure whatever you use has brass contacts. and swapping a coil is SUPER easy, one wire(top), one plug(bottom) and slide it off. :eek:nethumb:

ok so my truck now has an accel cap and rotor, taylor wires, taylor wire looms, and new plugs, and tho the idle is a little better it still misses. the thing is, I may stop at one stoplight and it will miss and the next light it might not miss. I can adjust timing with my flashpaq, is it a timing issue, or is there some sort of timing sensor that is going bad? i really dont think its a coil issue.

THANKS!

so i looked at your sig, nothing is mentioned about an M1 or Hughes intake plenum gasket kit. make sure you do either one of those, because my new spark plugs are already starting to get fouled a little bit. i'm putting in the Hughes kit hopfully Saturday. just don't want you to put all those new goodies on, then the plugs will foul again.
