We are stirring up a lot of interest! on these things lol
your telling me!!!!!! wonder what the coniditions are for starting a GB... ill buy one and a high flow cat tonight...

Where are you getting the cat from? and how much?? hey if enough people are interested then why not lol we could do a group buy of cats and y-pipes

It looks like they layed the pipes on top of each other and ran them over with an 18 wheeler. Do yourself a favor and if you do the y-pipe do the whole thing because the bends in the stock pipe coming off the manifolds is also extremely squished in the bends.
I think I'm going to buy one now too. Did you do 2, 2.5" pipes in and a single 3" out?

Yeah thats what i'm going to do, and same for the cat til my muffler is all going to be 3", then dual 2.5"s

Yeah but at the moment I'm choking it back down after the cat back to the stock sized pipe. That is next on the list for exhaust is the cat-back in 3 inch with maybe a magnaflow or spintech on there exiting behind the rear tire. Right now I just have a Flowsound muffler on there. It came with the truck. It sounds great but drones at around 57 mph and I feel like it is leaving some performance on the table......

How much are you paying for the cat and where are you buying it from?
ya, i was wondering about that.. and the cat... i found a random technologies one.. no price yet though... i was kind of just throwing out numbers...

Thanks for the info guys. My plan is to run 2.5" or 2.25" pipes from both manifolds on my '02 4.7 Dakota into this Magnaflow Y pipe then a single 3" Magnaflow muffler. I will remove the stock resonator and the rest of the stock exhaust completely.

From everything that I've read on the 4.7 performance, 2 2.5" or 2.25" primaries from the manifolds into a single 3" exhaust works wonders with the HO cams, HO intake manifold, 70mm TB, 180 degree thermostat, cold air intake, clutch fan delete, and a tuner (either SCT or Superchips). There is a guy with a club cab 4.7 5 spd Dakota running high 13's with similar mods here:

You have to read more into what he has done. He has 212x cam but w/e on that part. He has slicks and skinnies up front. He also took the belt off of the motor, yeah you read that right. Also has a 5 speed which gives him quite a bit of time if he can shift decently. I will be close to that soon but I'm definitely gonna need a stall and slicks to get there.
