So I am going to the track on Saturday and I want to be able to run my stock electric fan whenever I want but still want it to turn on like normal with the a/c and temp sensor. So I want to know if there is a way that I can wire it to a switch but also just have it work just like it does now. IDK if this can be done or if it is a stupid question because I'm not the best when it comes to electrical know how. SO just let me know how/if this can be done, and walk me through this like I'm a 4 year old please.:jester:

Thanks,

Matt

Yeah I know about those and it would work good but I just want something where I can just switch the fan on whenever I want but still have it work like it is now. Basically I want to be able to switch it on at the track to cool of the engine without turning on the a/c and dripping water on the starting line but when not at the track just have it work like normal.

It has a manual switch option and port, you just have to buy the switch
Looking for inexpensive and right now so that is not an option, but thank you. Maybe I should have mentioned that in the first post. Also I will be getting SCT soon so I will be able to get the fan to turn on at a lower temp than stock anyways.:mullet:

just splice into the a/c pressure switch or temp switch and use a high amp toggle.

Okay so what I am thinking about with what you are saying id that there will be a power source going into this temp switch or a/c pressure switch and power going out. So if I know what wire is the live one I can splice into it on both sides and then put a switch in there to make the power bypass the switch and go to the fan whenever I want but if the switch is off it will just work like normal. So correct me if am going in the complete wrong direction.

spliced into AC compressor line so that it still runs regularly after manual set-up!
hey i'm even learning something here :banana2:
Ok so you spliced into the a/c compressor line with a... switch:huh: and then ran the other side of the switch to where? The fan? So you just found a constant power source and ran it to the fan, or did you do what I said earlier.

yes basically but what did you say earlier?
I used the temp control I showed you, the splice runs to that making it automatic and then I control it any way I want to also.

I'm just wondering what the wire is that you tapped into, is it a constant power source or controlled by another switch somewhere. I really just want to be able to go to the store get a little toggle switch or something and wire it in so I can turn my fan on and off without loosing the normal function of everything else. So what I was thinking I could do is if I can find one of the senors that has a constant power source going in and then another wire coming out that turns on and off with the sensor can I just jump those two wires together with a switch so that when I turn on the switch it bypasses the sensor and there is just constant power to the fan. Until I turn the switch off and the power has to go back through the sensor.

IDK if that makes sense or not. Kinda does to me just don't know if I can do it with out shorting or freaking stuff out on the truck.

someone will chime in soon b4 I go destructing ur electrical system don't worry!
that is the ac compressor line regular set-up. I had to clip my wires to the fan when I installed the temp control and that was my way back in.

u might just be able to tap that for your needs but wait to someone else confirms, ok?

:jester:I guess I'll wait for someone else confirm then:D. But I see what you did now with the switch. You tapped into the stock sensor with it and then ran the wires from the switch to the fan and that is what controls when it goes on.

I'm thinking what I said might work. IDK it sounds great in my head.:funny:

I'd buy the kit! Oh wait I did

:funny:Yeah I would except for the fact that I'm gonna be getting SCT in the next few months here anyways and I can control when the fan comes on with that.

So does anybody know if what I'm thinking will work.

If there is no way to do this than can I just turn on my heat and let the e-fan run or will that cause me to condensate water somehow. I mean I see no reason why I would drip water but if it will I need to know.
