:help: hello all, new member here. i have a 97 cc, and i want to build a sub box for my jl audio's. was wondering if anyone has built one to fit under the club cab rear seats. i was giong to get a thunderform box from a guy in vegas, but he keeps b.s.ing me on when he is going to send, so im just going to build my own. any help would be great. thanks

why not just buy the box. thought mtx made them for your style truck. just get the unloaded box, fill it with your speakers and the amp. just be sure your speakers can work with that style box, and that the cu. ft. volumes is on target with your subs. :biggthump

well if hes dead set on building his ouw, id say use mdf. fiberglass would need alot of reinforcing (or so ive read about). if its not done in a good way, itll rattle like a SOB. for me though, i would just get the box, and be done with it. bad enough im going through my own turmoil here with this mtx box im trying to custom color...gotta do it all over again...well, just the face piece where the speakers bolt to. damn paint flacked off. so now im going to get an orbital sander, sand the face of he box smooth and start again... :rant:

going to make it out of mdf. i would use the thunderform box, but it was never sent to me. im sick of waiting oni t to show up. when you tell someone your going to send it, send it. anyways enough of me bitchin. i just need some info on building the box.
Make sure you buy some acetone and clean very thoroughly where you are going to paint. This will remove any grease or oil and keep it from flaking or fisheyeing.realdeal7369 said:
