ive been lookin at threads and the ones ive seen were always saying that 2/3 drop would rub with 275/45 and then theres some that say that they are successfully running those tires with a 2/3 so i was thinking a 1/3 would hopefully be fine

Maybe, 30" just seems like alot of tire for a 2wd. I could be wrong.

the guy at my local shop was swearin that 275/45s wouldnt fit on a stock height truck, and i was trying to tell him that im pretty sure stock height would fit, and he was like well maybe. do you think he was just trying to get me to buy the more expensive 275/40s

Dunno man, I'd make extra sure that they will fit, Ask several people. I'm w/ the salesman. I can't see 30x11 fittin' but like I said I could be wrong.

how did you paint yours? were they professionally painted?
painted by myself.

wet sanded the OEM finish with 400 grit paper, topside AND back side, which helped clean up the brake dust stains. they almost looked like new wheels when I was done! --except instead of being shiney and glossy, they were matte grey looking. wash with soap and water and let them dry. any spots that were still shinny, got sanded again. with all the water filling the sanding scratches, it makes the wheel look shiney, so it's hard to see what's been sanded.

once the entire wheel is sanded and flat looking, one final wipe down with de-greaser.

I then taped the rim edge with masking tape to keep them silver, and hit it with cans of Rustoleum flat black. I didn't even bother to mask off the tires...who cares if you get black paint on black tires! once they were dry, I pealed the tape off, and that's how they looked!

I did this right before winter though, so I haven't actualy driven on them yet. if it holds up well, great! if not, once these tires wear out, I'll take them off and go get the wheels professionally sand blasted and powdercoated flat black.

it looks pretty sick, im not gunna lie, but i have the non-r/t wheels which look kinda lame
which of the 25 different non-R/T wheels do you have?

the 16x8s look pretty good black too, in fact, there's a few sets out there that came from the factory, already powdercoated black. they were on the "motor sports" edition trucks with yellow letter good years. buddy of mine had a truck like that, 99? 00? I don't remember the year, but it had a 3.9L, 5 spd...red like mine, with little special stickers on the doors that said "dodge motorsports" with checker flags on them. looked pretty good too.
