Sadly, this section of the site seems to be increasingly popular. Things are getting very hard here now. Lost my job doing construction due to my boss moving states and haven't been able to find a steady job since. Not even fast food places! The wife and I have split for the moment (not going into details), and now it seems I'll be losing the Dak soon because I just can't get enough work. I'm really hoping things pick up soon though. And to make matters worse, someone backed into it and destoryed my bed. I can deal with that for now though. Anyways, just needed to vent. I hope everyone else is doing better though!

I guess that rule varies from bank to bank (or who you talk to), I had no problems closing our joint account the day after we separated.
Thanks for all the advice guys! I really dont understand the divorce/seperation procedure. Do you have to be "legally" seperated or what? I dont understand any of this as I never expected to be any part of it. 
My main concern is the durango. I either want it GONE or in her name so she can handle the debt. It's already marked my credit and my dad's because she LIED about sending in a payment. She is being somewhat cooperative. The only thing I have on her is that her mom doesn't know she's on drugs and stripping and I get her attention when I mention telling. YES, it is juvenile, I know but it's the only thing I can do to get her to pay what she owes or cooperate with me. I can't afford a lawyer honestly but if they could somehow get the truck in her name I'd see if I could figure something out. I'm thinking of going to her parents and having them take payments on it. Im so frustrated with this shit. But again, thanks for all the advice.

As for jobs, I would look into Repo's, Towing and the Post Office. Those 3 things are usually recession-proof.
On the Durango, does your Dad know about the late payment? Does he have any cash saved away? If so, it might be best for him to pay off the Durango, then you can pay him back when you get on your feet.

Post Office has/had a hiring freeze, at least in my town. I tried when I got laid off. Good idea on the truck.

wow really sorry to hear that.... I thought my life was starting to suck, I dont know how you deal with all that crap and still stay sane about it. but if ya follow all the good advice on here things should turn out better soon.
eventhough it will seem childish, I would tell her parents that she's doin drugs and strippin. they will probly have a better chance of getting ahold of her and trying to get her back on track,, but theres no way you should ever get back with her... but hopefully everything works out better soon..

No, my dad is retired and doesn't have a whole lot put away. I'm actually his adopted son so he has other vultures feeding off him and I'd rather not be another if I can help it. However, he has been helping me through this as much as he can.
