I know its along way from Ga. but Oklahoma job market is just booming right now. We wernt affected by the home foreclosures much, and new houses and subdivisions are going up like crazy around OKC area. Might be a new start. Check with the Oklahoma employment comm. or the Daily Oklahoman classifieds. Best of luck.

:jawdrop: I never saw any of this coming.. I'm sorry to hear about all the crap that's been happening. I just recently had a friend of mine get divorced because his wife flipped out on drugs and messed around with some other people. It may suck hard now, but at least you have a roof over your head. Don't give up man.

so is the truck registerd under your name or is your loan in your name?
The loan is in my name with my dad as co-signer and the truck is registered to me as well.

The payoff on the loan is like 6K... it's yours if you want it just take payments! Needs a little TLC though
You guys are pretty young for marriage, I hope things work out in time for you guys. :sorry:to hear Man, Chris
Ya I knew better when I did it.. I blame it on the wreck I had... Must have had a pro-longed concussion on top of the medicine I was taking lol

The idea is tempting but 4+ years in jail isn't worth it lol

Ya I never seen it coming either... Drugs will fuck a lot of good things up. And it sure has her....
jason you wanna sell those headlights on the cheap in a couple weeks?

keep ya head up man and keep tryin
I may... I'll have to think about it because I'd still have to drive up and everything.

Update to add to the BS.... Found out my wife LIED about sending the payment for the truck and now it's 30 days past due and I have to come up with 175 to pay it! And I still haven't got enough to even pay my truck and then insurance... I don't know what I'll do.

And to make matters worse, I had been texting her for the Money Order Stub so we could track the payment (before I knew she lied) and she had some guy call me and cuss me out saying I didn't need to talk to her anymore. And then she broke down and admitted she never paid it.... But how dare someone call and tell me not to talk to my own wife. Much more of this and I'm going to probably end up in jail or something. She's just went nuts beyond belief! Nothing like the girl I married. She's filing for divorce in the morning so that's the end of that. A free man I guess. My main focus is on the trucks right now I guess... I don't want my dad's credit ruined or being sued for the Durango... Thanks everyone.

if she wont give the truck back to you you can report it stolen because its in your name. Then try and sell it. Good luck man.

No, I have posession of it only because it's not running at the moment  The police told me it's "community" property anyways since we are married...

ha, sounds like a plan to me :nana: I'm trying to go against my nature and not do anything rash but it's proving to be difficult. And he lives in millidgeville which is like 2 hours from me. I've been boiling about it anyways.

See if there's a legal advice group in your local area. When I knew that my marriage was coming to an end, I found a group for divorced fathers, and they gave me a shitload of advice and it saved me a ton of money during the whole process. The initial consultation was free, and they only asked for a $25/mo donation while I used their group. They make their real money charging for helping type up the forms & other services.

The key right now is to get absolutely everything out of her name if possible. Close any joint bank accounts or credit cards, take a snapshot of all their balances right now because you're each responsible for half. Shut off any utilities in her or joint names and re-open them by yourself. Check with a lawyer/bank/police to see what options may be available for the Durango - I'm not sure if they'll let you recover it, even if she's not making payments. The catch is that half of the marital assets belong to her, even if the loans are in your name for now - you might be stuck with the payments until a judge formally sorts things out. If you know for absolute certainty that you won't be able to make the payments then it might be best to consult with the bank regarding details of a repossession before the lack of payments compounds the fees/problems.

Thankfully we don't have a whole lot in our name apart from the two trucks. We have a bank account and I'm just going to remove her from it? Is it that simple? She has a Zales card in her name... that she got against my permission I might add :nana:. She told me to take the truck but I don't want it. All she is doing is sticking me with her debt. But we rented and started going through a hard time and ended up at my Dad's so we have no utilities in our name or anything at the moment. There are a few bills though where she went to the hospital and such... Would I Be responsible for those? I know one she was only 17 and I think I had to sign for her.. Not sure really anymore

I was typing my response when you posted this... Having the vehicle in hand definitely helps a lot. Obviously the easiest choice would be to somehow get it running and sell it right away, but if you're upside down then you may have to resort to the repo.

Either way, don't do anything at all against her or these other guys - it will only come back to haunt you in divorce court (or worse - criminal court). I'd highly recommend talking to a lawyer or the police regarding your criminal case, way before your court date. You might be able to get something worked out ahead of time, rather than leaving your long-term fate to whatever the judge springs on you at the last minute.

I don't think you can remove her from the bank account without her permission, but you can certainly close the joint account and just open a new one in your name. Be careful to document any remaining balance, because technically half of it belongs to her - you could be liable to reimburse her when you formally get divorced.

Until you go to court, then she will be responsible for keeping up payments on any debts that are only in her name (eg: hospital bill, zales, etc.), and the same thing goes for you (vehicles). You should definitely point out to the judge that she got the zales card in her name without notification and she'll have to provide copies of the bills to determine liability, but don't be completely surprised if you get stuck with half of the balance anyways - the card & payments would still be in her name, but you would have to reimburse her half the balance.

Either way you're in limbo until papers are filed and you go to court. Judges always prefer that couples come up with some sort of debt/asset agreement on their own, but when push comes to shove the judge may decide for you based on your locale's guidelines.

you need to cover your ass NOW. protect yourself NOW. go in and close EVERYTHING that your name is on, or remove your name from the accounts if they won't let you close them without her there with you.

(withdraw all the cash in them too, before she does, because it sounds like she will)

you need to create seperation between you and her. bank accounts, credit cards, loan statements, deeds to the house, title to vehicles, cell phones credit cards, EVERYTHING.

and go talk to a lawyer. file for divorce NOW. if you string this along, trying to save your marriage, then she's just going to fuck you in the ass and take you for everything you got, leaving you with nothing in your name but mountains of debt.

Don't throw your life away for this one girl. Fuck it. you're too young, you guys were married for what? a year? maybe 2? there's MILES of pipe out there, no need to agonize over her 6 inches of it.

I've seen people get screwed over by divorce so many times.
Also, can you PM me some info about the TLC that the Durango needs? And general info about it?

Maybe what custom parts you have for it - and anything stock that you could put back on it and just to sell some of the custom stuff?

but yeah... snapshots of the bank account statements and empty all the cash from it. empty the accounts; half is yours half is hers. However don't let her be the first one to get to the bank and take it all because trust me, it will be MUCH harder to get it back then it is to take it first.

I know someone who's wife filed for divorce over 6 years ago and the div is still not finalized. So... take everything you can; it might be years before you get your half.

If you have any custom parts you can sell that you kept the stock parts for, let me know.

My wife wanted me to go to our last bank and close our joint account to open a new one at another bank. Without her present and to sign papers I could not close the joint account. It's a good chance every bank has the same policy to protect themselves from lawsuits.

I was able to do this at my bank. Make sure you go into the bank and sit down with a loan officer/collections officer. Let them know everything that is happening and why. In MI it takes a long time and a boatload of cash to do a divorce. So I'm guessing if she filed there is more to it than that. Do everything Sin said also.
Good Luck my friend. Construction is a trade that will not die for a long time. New construction is very slow but remodeling and repair/roofing should pick up every place in a month or so. Find a Morton Buildings dealer and see if they are hiring for any crew work. They work year round and have many many offices.
