so a while ago my brake lights didnt work. took a day but i found a relay on the back of the fuse panel under the dash, i switched it..they work! so i realized my reverse lights dont work and then last night i thought my brake lights didnt work and i didnt think about it till today when i realized they did not work. so i switch relay again, they work, get back in the truck...dont work again so i switch the relay AGAIN and they work and i go to my girlfriends we stay for like 2 hours and i go to go home and they dont work again so i switched the relay again and they worked fine the whole ride.... like wtf?!

also i backed into a curb cuz my truck is so low, scratched my paint and pushed my exhaust tip in, melted my rear bumper a little and now where the tips go over the rear they clunk. and the muffler was already leaking...should i just cut it off and get a straight thru muffler and a tip to face down? or leave it or what?

Is the relay going bad? When you say switched you mean you swapped it for a new one or just swapped it with another relay already in the car? You may have a loose ground which is making the relay turn off. Remember dodge switches its ground not positive
Since its working as soon as you swap out the relays I woudl believe there is a loose connection at the fuse panel. next time try to wiffle it instead of removing it and see if it starts to work. if it does then its a bad contact at the fuse block

All that to match the dent in the door :stirthepo

Are the relays hot or melted when you take them out? May possibly be heating up because of too much current and melting the inards of the relays. You may be able to put a larger or lesser current fuse in for the brake/tail lights and see if that helps? IDK Either that or a bad ground somewhere thats wiggling when you hit bumps. I've got enough friggen wiring problems of my own to figure out :jester: good luck!

my dad said the same thing about the loose connection and to try and just wiggle it. i will give that a try if they dont work today and i have just been switching it with horn relay and trailor relay and whatnot and the one that didnt work for brake lights worked for everything else,

oh and kota, something else ud prolly be happy to hear lol, i kinda got blocked in yesterday morning and i have to austin powers my way out and make a uturn in a spot just big enough for 2 cars and i hit my garage and dented my front bumper suppot thing, thats all rust anyways so it wasnt a big deal, thats the only spot on my truck with rust so when i get money imma buy a fiberglass one lol.

Test for power at the reverse light, then check power at the fuse box. If you have power at the reverse light, replace the bulbs. If no power at fuse box ya got wiring issues. Is it auto or manual? If auto it may be a neutral safety switch

oh and my reverse lights still dont work...all fuses are good....could both bulbs have went at same time?

Actually they can. My wifes brand new car the brake lights went out one day. both lights at the same time. She said another driver told her her lights werent working. So I Checked it out. The bulbs have a small little tip that makes contact. the little ball of lead substance was worn down from the arc it made with the electrical current. Put new bulbs in there and used some dielectic grease ( factory did not use any sort of grease) and so far its been a few years and no problems

i figured it out. when i checked the fuses they were all good but i guess maybe i misse done or it just looked good, but it was a fuse. brake lights stopped working again so i put veseline on the relay and they worked but we will see in the next day or two.

on another note i was backing out of my garage and fucked over my side mirror. made me very angry haha. super glued it together n its fine for now. will post a pic prolly tomorrow.

i had just replaced my lower coolant hose cuz the belt rubbing against it put a hole in the hose and now the new one already has a big wear mark and looks like its gunna break again soon....what to do?
