i brought my 1998 Dodge Dakota R/T to the tire place to get an allignment because it was pulling me to the right the other day. They said my camber was off and the right front camber is at -2.2... The cross camber is at 3.3. I replaced the lower ball joints because thet were shot and thought this would fix the degree the camber was off but did not. I was also told by the dealer that my upper ball joints now need to be replaced. do you know if my camber will go back to normal once the ball joints are replaced? Is there anything specific i should look to replace or see if it is broken... bushings, anything with the power steering rack, tie rods, etc???

wow.... holy resurected thread Batman.......

if you can move the tire when you grab the top and bottom of the tire, your ball joints are bad...

now the hard decision... how deep do you go??? all four.... plus bushings....?? add a tie rod end?? best to do this in a one shot and avoid paying extra each time.

take it in for a alignment. they have to inspect your front end first. if they find probs they will tell you ahead of time and fix it then do the alignment.

ball joints are a PITA if they havent been done before cuz they are rivited in. its a easy weekend job for both sides. the dealer will replace a control arm but you can by the joints seperatley. ebay has them all the time tho quality is suspect (Chinese??). Rockauto has the brand name ones
