one is electrically shifted into 4th, the other is hydraulic. the 2wd tailshaft is different entirely compared to the 4x4, since it have to mount to the transfer case.

The RH is hyd(just like a 727) through 3rd gear with O.D. and lock up being electronic.
The RE is electronic shifted all the time.
Also the RH is about 6 inches longer because it has a governor pump at the rear the RE doesn't need.

Care to expand on this because what I said is right:huh: maybe not horribly in depth but it's still correct I don't think he really cared to get into a complete auto trans lesson.
I believe you are correct. 1st-3rd hyd... this is why when my speed sensor went out, there was no shift to 4th. Check the wiring diagrams, the only thing going to that trans is a common ground and then 2 switched B+ for lock of the TC cluch and the other for shift to 4th.

and my 93 cummins that has a 46RH only has 2 wires going to it because they didn't think the 46RH could handle 400ftlbs in lock up so I only have OD without lock up. I know I'm right just wondering what he thinks I said is wrong.
