the SAS will come eventualy just not any time in the near future, its going to be mostly pavment packin untill that gets done as much as i hate to admit it. it would be my first time actualy swappin somethin like that into a vehicle and at the moment its my Daily so cant afford to have it down for to long, but i agree a SAS would be much better considering those hubs aint exactly the cheapest (already replaced both)

i can weld, but not good enough for me to have to trust it on a vehicle, and what do you think i would be able to get wit hthe 5.5 sus and 3 inch body, without no more then real mild cutting, and if you can send some pics of fenders cut to show how it should be done i would really appreciate it. im more or less a chevy guy in the dodge world now, im lost.

especiall if yoru wheeling it.. if your making her a driveway princess then 35+ should be ok on the transfer case up front.. but fitting that large of tires on 8 inces of lift will be a challence w/o a SAS

I have 35's with 3in B/L and 3in Rancho suspension, no rubbing, no trimming required. My wheels are 10x15, I could go to a 36 but I wouldn't chance a 37. I think you could squeeze a 37 with the Tuff Country, a body lift and some wider wheels, you may need to trim a bit but if you're not wheeling it yet, you shouldn't run into any issues.

just my .02

I think you would be better off doing your research on the SAS if you want to run larger tires, A Lot of people think you only need to SAS if you do alot of 4-wheelin, But if you want to run large tires it is the best and safest route to take even on the road, And on big tires the SAS rides and handles better than the IFS lifts, I think the TC will run you about $1,700.00 with shocks which is more than half of doing your axle swap.

lets do a normal wear and tear replacement parts comparison, I will use parts for a Durango IFS and a 78 Ford Dana 44

Brake calipers, Durango- $57.00 each, Dana 44- $14.99

Rotors, Durango- $34.99 each, Dana 44- $29.99

Wheel bearing/Hub assembly, Durango- $177.00 each, Dana 44- $60.99

ball joints, Durango- Moog say $70.00 each, Dana 44 Moog $40.00
4 needed

Durango- $114.00 2 calipers- Dana 44- $ 29.98
$354.00 2 Wheel assembly- Dana 44- $121.98
$68.98 2 rotors- Dana 44- $59.98
$280.00 4 ball joints- Dana 44- $160.00

Total- $806.98 Total- $371.00

A savings of $435.98 over a stock IFS rebuild, I did not add the IFS CV-axles to this comparison because chances are very slim that you would get premature failure from a Solid axle shaft on the street, But you can get early fatigue of the CV-Axles on an IFS lifted daily driver, I would like to add I am not Hatin on the TC, I ran it for many years

how you like the 35's? , i think i might go that route next time round then if i break the ifs i got a reason to sas.

I like them :mullet: no issues, I'm sure if I pounded on it on a regular basis will in the dirt and rocks something would give but it's holding up fine.

but the conversion would be great still :drive:
