so i was flipping threw my owners book and found the original window sticker. my truck sold for $34,715 in 1999 i paid $16,000 in 2002. now i bet i couldn't get 2 grand for it. how much did your truck originally sell for? what did you pay? and how much is it wroth now?

HaHa, isn't that the truth? And don't forget inflation, that was 10yrs ago...
I dunno what my '99 sold for in '99, but I just bought it form a new chevy dealer for 3,650.00. The salesman used to be a dodge salesman in '99 and he couldn't believe how cheap they had gotten.
Update, I found my window sticker, mine has every available option I know of that was offered in '99 short of the R/T and it ran the original purchaser $32k

04 Dakota Quad CAb V8 4x4, 5 speed auto, Sport plus. Stickered for 31 when I bought it in OCtober 2003. I got it for about 28,500 out the door brand new 10/31/03. But when I say out the door I mean that included tax, tags, title, AND the loan interest.
Since then it has probably depreciated by 12-15 grand from sticker while I have put at least 5 grand in accessories into it and another couple grand in maintenance and upkeep. I don't see it changing hands again much before 2012 or 2013. I actually went shopping for an 03 leftover. They only had 04s on their lot. The dealership found one for me 300 miles away in Rhode Island thinking I wouldn't bite. I asked for the number to the Rhode island dealership and got up to leave at which point they got ALOT more flexible.

they said the only dealer was FAR FAR away thinking he wouldnt want to drive that far "making them the only option" so when he said "whats their number, i think ill drive that far to get one" they said oh oh oh well how bout we give it to you at this cost "to keep him around"
