I have a two piece bumper. The truck is all black and the factory lower valence is grey, so is the plastic pieces on the rear bumper. I was wondering if anyone has had any xperience in either dying or painting these pieces. I was looking at a dark charcoal or as close to black as possible. Now this may sound stupid, but I don't want to primer fill and sand and primer fill and sand some more, I would somehow like to get it where it looks the same in texture, but darker. Any suggestions? I've seen some really good stuff in hear so I know someone can help?!

Adhesion promoter for plastic should work. It is black and holds up just fine and just gets sprayed on. That may be what you're looking for

Actually there is a product we use here at the dealership that chrysler recommends for fading black plastic panels.
It is made by SEM Part Number # 39103 Flexible Bumper Coater. It is a dark charcoal/black color. Just clean the area with alcohol or a plastic prep and spray, easy as that.

LoL....how many PT Cruiser bumpers have you used that on....I never have understood that tape mark thats just comes from no where on those bumpers in the textured area.

Can you buy it from the dealer?

Most SEM products are sold at local automotive paint/body supply stores, or just go to your local Chrysler dealer, they'll sale you a can.

We just get ours from a local parts house. I wouldn't go to the dealer, they will mark it up at least another 60%.
Try NAPA or somewhere like that.
We actuall use it alot on the black area on the rear bumper and the running boards of Durangos.
We are a dodge only dealer, so no PT's for me. :biggthump
