Do i put the rubber cover on top of the spring from the old springs on the new ones

Yes you re-use the rubber isolator. Loosen the castle nut for the lower ball joint and put a floor jack under the lower control arm raising it up a tiny bit. Remove the castle nut and hit the spindle with a hammer where the stud goes thru until it loosens up. Then lower the floor jack slowly until the lower arm loses contact with the spring then remove the spring.

If you don't reinstall the rubber isolator, you will start to get a lot of loud noises. When I had my previous truck lifted, they didn't reinstall it and it made some awfull noises on bumps, not to mention scratch the hell out of the perchs. Only tool you may need is one to pull the ball joint out. I'm personally not found of hammering any of my suspension parts. No compressor is nessasary, not unless the springs are over 3"s taller then stock dakota, just let the lower a-arm slow and then pull it out.

hammering on it is the way to do it. you could use a pickle fork but that puts alot of stress on the balljoint. just hammering on the SOLID STEEL spindle isnt going to hurt anything. and an inpact gut may be necessary if the balljoint starts turning during the reinstall. in that case just put the jack under the lower arm to put weight on it and that holes the balljoint in place most the time. but an impact might still be necessary.

True that. Hitting the spindle with a hammer isn't going to damage anything. Better than risking damaging the boot/joint with a pickle fork. 2-3 blows with a ball peen and that shit pops right out.

I made my own tool to fit all the ball joints and tie rods. It's so nice moveing my wrench .25-1 full turn and pop they go :nana:

It really helped alot

Ill get pictures tomorrow of how it looks.Im very pleased with the look it gave.I have yet to drive it so idk how the ride is like just yet.I should be taking it to get aligned tomorrow or tuesday

Edit: Those of you with moog ball joints.Do you grease them after you install them or do you wait for a little while and then grease them

They seem to be already greased but maybe im wrong

grease them now.

pump grease in until it squirts out. then wipe up the excess.

in the future, when greasing, pump grease in until clean fresh grease comes out. then wipe up all the old dirty crap.
