The other day my son and I were on the way into town. I asked him to open up the glove compartment and grab another CD out. When he pulled up on the handle it did not open. When he let go a small plastic piece fell to the floorboard. After saying all that. Can I replace just the handle or will the entire Glove compartment door need to be replaced. I can still open it by grabing the metal latch under the handle but that is a PITA

Thanks in advance

Hello - another newb here. I have to say I love this site and have gotten some great info here!

I am having the same problem with the latch. Anyone have some guidance here on and easy fix?

Hello, if the hanle/latch unbolts then you should beable to replace just that by either going to a junkyard or contacting some members on here in the for sale section that are parting out trucks. Id go outside and look at mine but im tired and just got in from work

I had this same issue, and so did my dad (he's got a 99 Dakota sport and I got a 99 Surango SLT)

I fabricated a small wire piece from a coat hanger, bent it to fit, and it works fine and looks inconspicuous...I just need to match the paint of the dash better so that it looks like apart of the dash
