Will a 44RE transmission bolt up to a 5.9L dakota??

yup. just build it up real good, with the usuals...shift kit, deep pan, good sized cooler. if its already out of the truck, get an upgraded pump for it, and look into getting a rebult (better OD unit). those are the few major problems these transmissions seem to have.

id also look into a better TC too. something in the lines of 1800-2000 too. your milage will improve a little also with these upgrades.

a 42re or 44re will work, my 42re has lasted almost 3 months so far
