So we just installed my kenne bell supercharger on my truck and with the optimizer hooked up it don't want to start and throw a code p0320
(No RPM Signal to PCM (Crankshaft Position Sensor Signal to JTEC))
And the TPS have a weak reading and throw a code too..

So i think this mean my floptimser is shot?

Since my truck is a DD, we hooked everything back on the stock pcm, and turned the screw to put the supercharger in valet mode. It was like 4h00AM and was so tired and pissed off at this optimizer.

But today, even in valet mode, i can see boost, like if i give 1/2 throttle i can see 1-2 psi.. I didn't even try to go WOT, cause i'm pretty sure it will go high in boost.. i'm always running 91 octane in my truck so i guess it can help to not get any ping or knock..

For now is it safe to run 1-2 psi on stock pcm?
What's the best way now for me to tune it?

Not really, and if it's truly in valet mode then something is up with your gauge. Make sure the bypass valve is staing open and not closing when you rev it. The scew may not be tight enough and it's slipping.

BTW I would agree your opti-sizzle is toast. And best way to tune these is by far SCT or a standalone.

I will try to tighten the screw again tomorrow....
Because i'm really getting into boost....
I'm trying to not go over 1psi :jester: sometimes 1.5psi :jester:...

Tuning:
What about the B&G Supercharged Truck Flash? does it work fine?..
It's like half the price of the sct, not that i'm cheap, but i don't want to get into a tuning nightmare like some people here...

I guess that if i go with a flash like this, i need to change my injectors since i will not be running the 2 injectors that are on the supercharger...?

- One of my friends has a megasquirt in his car, and i was wondering if it's hard to get it in piggyback in our truck to control the fuel and the spark?,
Edit: And To be able to keep my stock injectors in there, and running the 2 on the supercharger as well

Thanks all! I really want to get this beast running :banana2:
Any opinions, feedback are welcome!
And sorry if my english sucks..:sorry:

Sine you have an underdrive pulley, wont you be loosing boost?
Also post any new numbers you get from the Kenne Bell as im working on getting one.
I'm pretty sure i will be loosing boost at like 1500-2000rpm, because the supercharger is now running 25% slower than normal...
But i think that i will make the same boost as the other in the higher rpm!

Lose the UD pulleys, they are only hurtingyou at this point. And something doesn'tseem right with your gauge, you should NOT be making boost. With that valve open it's impossible. You didn't tighten the screw witht eh valve SHUT did you?

Also, a simple flash might work ok, but the fact is you're still running on a 1-Bar MAP sensor that can't read boost. You can't effectively tune boosted regions if nothing can even read them accuratly. Also ditch those aux injectors!! Trust me you won't regret it. Keep in mind I spent over 3 years with this S/C on my truck and not being able to use it because I kept trying the "cheap" way out. ;)

Post a wanted AD for an optimizer set-up to atleast get you back on the road. The correct way to tune it is a standalone with SCT being the next best option. I would not bother with a canned flash, with boost its not a great idea, especially since the KB acts much differently than a centrifugal that the canned flash is intended for.

If the screw stops don't work on the bypass valve, why not just tie up the actuator rod with a zip tie or something?

I would try re-seating the plug from the opimizer into the PCM, might fix some of your electrical woes.

...tuned mine with a couple of smt6's. it runs perfectly. you could tune with just one smt6, if you don't care to control A/F ratio in closed loop. i'm getting a smooth steady fueling increase under partial load in closed loop. oh yeah, also have a knock sensor installed....J&S Electronics Safeguard

I never had the optimizer....bought the blower of someone who claimed the optimizer worked, well it arrived in pieces. Oh well. And as for the dyno....I had an image....where it went I don't know. We were getting 408 ft. lbs be shortly after a 2000 RPMS at the rear wheels, that's about all I can remember.

If you want to tune this thing I have a aeromotive Digital FMU setup with booster pump, and all fuel lines that will work great for you! Im getting rid of it cheap at 300 bucks!

Looks like i'm not done at all with this....

I will try the floptimizer again monday, i will look at the big plug that goes in and see if something is disconnected or not connected correctly

If its not working, then i'm removing it (the optimizer) from the truck and start to save my money on something else...

There is a dyno around here that is tuning with the SCT
SCT ADVANTAGE III Tuning on the dyno : 150$/h
*for all Dodge, Chrysler and GM Models, Add 100$*

How many hours can it take to get a good tune with the SCT on a dyno?

Wow those are high prices! All depends on how good they are. The dyno here usually wants around 3-4 hours.

Does the guy have on a ski mask and .45 when you there, that sounds like highway robbery....

Why not get it from Sean Powell??? He will sell you the whole unit for 550 or something like that and tune it til its right.....

Just an idea -

^^^^ x2!!! He's awesome! You'll still need to buy the larger injectors and 2-BAR MAP sensor though.

Which you would locally tuning as well - well fuck maybe for those prices they provide the injectors and 2 bar :jester:

Sean tuned Mike Smith's truck - he is the first one of my vortech kits that was bolted on - I know mike is really happy and he said sean is great with customer service and got the tune really really close to perfect....

SCT doesn't work with every truck, IME.

If you have the cash to do it right, I would get a standalone system like DFI thruster. No band-aids there! You can call SDCE or John Mercedes for more info!

:mullet::mullet::mullet::mullet::mullet::mullet:

My craptimizer work!!!!!!!!!
It was missing a ground !
ohh yeahhhhhhhh

BUT when it started the first time with the craptimiser, i give some throttle, and now the "%?& throttle cable broke :rant:

Well Boomin seems to be going pretty good and Mike Smith's truck is running like a champ.....but I know what you mean - for me I have to stick with SCT or FMU or aux injectors - I want to be able to smog with no CELs
