Did you acidently cut the lowe rad hose or upper? Stupid question but if its overheatin that fast it has to be pretty obvious. Fans turnin and everything?

The extender shoulnt affect your truck in terms of overheating. Theres an upper and lower hose, take a real good look at them. Did you bleed the cooling system good? Did you let the thermostat open then refill the rad?

Are you sure it is overheating or is it the gauge only? During lift what did you do? Install hose extension or not? Double check all your vacum lines and wires that should have flexed, something could have happened. When I went over 3", a vacum line popped off and I had no brakes. Since you have replaced the thermo, bleed again.

Things to check that move, vacum lines fire wall to block at the brake booster. Heater coil lines to the fireway to and return. Ground wire a on frame rail inner fender, and another blotch of wires there.

Your sure theres no leak? The overflow might be boilin over but other than that?? If you let the thermo open, and filled again it shouldnt be heatin up this fast. Does it just have a clutch fan or do you have an electric fan also?

it acts like its not all flowing right when i open the top of the radiator when the ruck is running the anti freze is just setting there its like its not flowing through the engine like it should but when i popped the lower hose of to change the thermostat it had fluid just pouring out of it

Maybe it is resdue on the block?

The rad drained thats why it flowed out. When you take the cap off it does just kind of "set" there, you dont actually see any type of "flow". Is the rad getting hot all over? You didnt acidently drop anything in the rad?

no i didnt drop anything in the radiator and yea when i poped the hose off it completely drainded the radiator thats why i think it has something to do with the return line i had to extend and yea when i take the cap off it just sets there but when i took the silver cap off the line that goes to the engine i could see it flowing to the engine

Your rad cap is in the upper rad hose isnt it? What other cap are you talking about? The overflow? This just started after you did the bodylift (drained the rad)?

yes the one in the upper readiator hose is the one i can see it flowing in and the other i was talking about not seeing any flow was the overflow and yes it just started one i put the lift on my truck has always ran cold but the first time i took it out after the lift it over heated

Let the truck sit over night. Open the actual rad cap not the overflow and fill it up. Start the truck and let it idle till it either runs were it is supposed to, or starts to overheat, then shut it down. Let it sit for an hour or two and go back and check the coolant. Top it off. Then see what it does.
