Does anyone have some surefire tips to removing both the dealer advertising adhesive decals as well as the Dodge decals without damaging the paint surface or leaving a sticky mess?

Place vehicle in sun light for 1 to 2 hrs or use a hair dryer, it will soften the sticker. Then remove by peeling, the glue residue can be removed easily with wd-40 or goo gone. Then wash and wax area and you're good to go!!

x2. you could also use rubbing alcohol to take off the residue.

If you have access, use a heat gun. A lot faster.

I just used a hair dryer....and very lightly. If you get the decals really hot the vinyl will come off easy but the glue will be a lot softer and harder to remove.

If the glue is cold it will come off with the vinyl but, if the vinyl is too cold it will rip into tiny pieces when you try to remove it. If you get the vinyl just warm enough you should be able to get most of the glue with the vinyl, then you'll only have the edges to clean up

pressure washer with the nozzle focused to a fine point (ask me how I know). I had not intended on taking mine off, after 8 years I figured the paint would be brighter behind the decals, but I ran thru some type of paint on the road that got all over the truck and was very hard to remove. after the pressure washer, a little polishing compund and wax and I was done

when i worked at the Dodge stealership, we used a heat gun and a razor blade (takes alot of pissed off managers to get the hang of it), and for the tuff stuff, we used the eraser wheel.
only prob. with the wheel was that on certain colors (white being one) it would leave a stain if you weren't careful.

jackhammer might work too..

lol
