one more question i know the black wire is ground which one is b+ power though
What color do your instructions tell you tey are. Usually constant B+ is yellow, and switched B+ is red. Every radio will be different.

OMG!! Just look in your owners manual and see which fuse is the one for the dome light. It will likely list memory for your radio as well and maybe a cpl other things that you just have`nt found are`nt working yet. It will give you the number for your fuse location. So if it says that # 3 fuse is the one then look under the dash, find #3, pull it out and look at it. It looks like a 2 pronged fork. Inside the plastic coating there is a small piece of metal that connects one fork to the other. If this connection is broken then the fuse is NFG. Check your wiring you have a short which causes the fuse to blow. Once your sure it`s fixed put a new fuse the same colour as the old one back into the fuse box. Turn it on. If it blows again then the problem is not fixed. If you had balls enough to attempt the install then you can trouble shoot this problem and fix it. Just relax, pull your head out and take a deep breath.

well unfortunately i don't have a owners Manual. but i did go outside and check all the wires connections they seem fine and i checked all the fuses and found a fuse in box under the hood which is labeled as 5 amp ign. off draw i believe, and the metal prongs in the plastic are torn apart. so im guessing thats the fuse that is causing this trouble, so my question is. is that the fuse for the radio? if not what is it for? and if it is can i just go to advanced auto parts and pick up a fuse of the same color with the number 5 on top?

go get a replacement fuse the same size and color and make sure that thats not the problem before you go testing everthing else, either way the fuse needs to be replaced. If thats not the problem then check the cd player

well my mom is out and going to pick me up the fuse. i just found my old haynes repair manual and looked up the fuse diagram. it says that for radio memory and dome light and and stuff is fuse #14 which is a 5 amp tan fuse, which is the exact one thats broken but the one i found broken is under the hood not under the dash on the drivers side and the one i found has no number on the box saying its number 14 but if i look at he fuse box under the dash there is a 14 and it says 14 A/B does that mean there is 2 number 14 fuses

i just finished installing my new system in my car yesterday (amp, sub, headunit). it has been working fine all day and then i got in my car tonight after leaving work and all of sudden the radio turned off and wont come on and the dome light on the roof don't come on neither, im praying that maybe the light in th dome on the roof just burnt out and that the ground came out from the back of the radio, any one know what could possibly be wrong and were to start looking plz help?
its a fuse. i had something similar happen to me and it took out the dome light, radio and the cigarette lighter thingy (i use that to charge my phone...)

ty yea i found the fuse im pretty sure still waiting for my mom tog et home with the new one but it took out my dome light and radio the cigarette lighter still works, was your fuse that broke located in the box in the engine bay

You might wanna put the 5 amp fuse back in.. The fuses are different amps for a reason.. You must be shorting out on something.. something isnt right
I agree....if the wire doesn't match the fuse, then you run the risk of burning through the wire.....

never up a fuse just cause a lower amperage fuse keeps blowing.....find out why the lower amp fuse keeps blowing.....and maybe you need a thicker wire....and to examine your installation a littler closer
