Overheating problem

I have an overheating problem. I have tracked it back to a little pump looking thing near the firewall on the passenger side. Basically there's a 1" hose coming from where the thermostat is to this pump. What exactly is that part? I'd like to replace it myself, looks pretty simple, but I am not sure what it is called. It's squirting out antifreeze from where the 2 halves join so I'm guessing the internal pump is bad.

That sounds like your temp valve.

Sounds like the boster pump for the rear heater core if its leaking you will need to replace it. is it overheating from low coolant?

It's pissing fluid out of this part until it gets low and overheats. So it's called a booster pump?

I am wondering where it's leaking at the seam where the 2 halves join if I can just maybe replace a gasket. Not sure how to test the device or once it leaks there it means it's dead.

You could always try rtv but I would just repace it

I took it apart and the cup that holds the pump is broken in a couple spots so I will replace it. Looks like it may be a dealer only part.

ifthats the case buy 2 or 3 if you plan on keeping it because it will be discontinued soon

I have found a few of the parts on my D are not avalible anymore
