like i said i never said i knew everything about the blower i just told you parts of wot i was told by SdCe. it is how your engine is built up an how your engine handles the power. i never said to know everything about the CFM's. but i will prove to you that i can make every bit as much with my P1SC that you can with a D1. but ill compensate for CFM with the engine being built up more.

you didnt read the whole thread did you?

If you are having those dilusions of grandure.....you should really stop, drop the tools and take a LONG walk away from the truck....

That comment is SO incorrect and SO misleading I dont know if we should all puke or cry..... :vomit:

The more you build an engine - I am assuming you dont know what you are talking about at this point so I will assume you mean porting, stroker crank, bigger valves, etc.....than you will need MORE CFM and more efficiency from your head unit to compliment those mods....at this point I have only two things to say..... :jerkit:

I would quit while you are only trailing by a country mile...build your top fueler and come back and tell us how friggin moronic all the participants in this thread are...

AND FOR GOD SAKES MAN SPELL CHECK!!!!!!!!!

You know the sad thing about this whole thread is the refusal for people to open there minds and listen and learn.

I know only a fraction of the info in comparison to people like Todd but am willing to listen and learn all I can. I have much experience with the P-1SC as I have worked with it for 3 years through several stages of engine mods so I know pretty much exactly when it is too small to handle the load.

Anyways it is a shame our friend here with grand illusions does not open his mind to what we are trying to explain to him. The people with great knowledge on here are only trying to help others not follow and suffer through the same trial and error efforts many of us have already been through. If I had known what I know now I would have went straight to the D-1SC or Paxton Novi2000 right from the get go but of course that is all hindsight now.

I continually learn new tech things on here, I will never wrench my own ride as that is above my capabilities but will continue to listen and learn so I can help guide newbies down the road.

Just wish everyone new would come with an open mind as there is so much to learn!

I still have more to learn than I know by 20 times.....I was just fortunate enough to get to spend alot of time with the guys at paxton/vortech when I worked at GSM.....gave me lots of knowledge - their engineers are really cool to talk to....

The bottom line for me is people really shouldnt spew info that they are not sure what they are talking about - defying the rules of what every engine/engine builder/supercharger has gone by since the automotive industry has been doing this really baffles my mind.....so I guess when 80 years of automotive physics get flushed with this guys build, I will look like an a-hole (which is fine with me ;) )

Another engine we built for a club cab Dakota made 740 at the crank with a P600; that truck went 12.0@90mph with just a 1-2 shift (3rd gear blew up before half-track). If you look in the Dec 2003 issue of Mopar Action magazine (blue cuda on the cover) there is a several page writeup about it. Pictures 3 and 4 below.
I remember that article...matter of fact, had one of the guys in the R/T club photocopy it for me because I lost my issue. That was the truck/article that got me interested in doing a full autometer layout on my truck...of course, it's still a pipe-dream at this stage...but someday...HA!

BTW....Welcome to the board! :drive:

Thanks for the info.

I will admit I know nothing about Vortec systems so not sure how the Vortec S-Trim compares to the Procharger P-1SC. However I will tell you the P-1SC is never going to make 700 at the crank on a 360 magnum no matter what configuration you have it in. It plain and simply cannot push the air required sounds like the S-trim Vortec can so there are some differences somewhere.
I'm guessing efficiency for starters....P1 and the S-trim are similar in size, but the ATI needs the aftercooler....*shrug*

But go ahead, do your build and we will see you in another thread titled "Help, not making power" :waiting:
Or "HALP! I BLOW'D UP MAH MOTER AN DON'T NO WHY!!!"

Maybe by 'build the engine' he means up the static compression...?

Soo.. the ysi flows at 1600, is there a vortech blower that spins close to 1800-2000?
The V4-XX flows 1850
The new V24 flows 2000

Have a dandy time getting them shoe horned into the motor compartment - making new brackets is fun, trust me....I dont think your truck is gonna over power a YSi - IMO.....

im not talkin about the CFM for the truck i mean the CFM of the procharger. and BTW my heads have been built up and my internals built also to handle anything i can throw at it. im not goin for the fastest im gonna show all you expert talkers in this thread save certain ppl that are trying to help me explain what i have been saying to you guys all along. my truck as long as i build it the way SDCE has been helping me with. i will have a good time up here pretty soon. when i get my bonnet on the TB i will gain about 3PSI and mostly about 15-20 HP depending on how my engine takes boost, my next upgrade will be a larger bore TB.

Do all that and then to prove everyone wrong throw a D1 or a more efficient blower on and retune.....see what your results are....just curious....

I think you are missing the correlation of CFM and EFFICIENCY.....there is two big factors in head unit selection.....

And FYI I never declared myself an expert - I do know what I have been saying in this thread is 100% correct - you need not even go any further on the subject with me, Just do what I said above and show a worse result with a more efficient higher flowing blower - I will sit corrected....

Todd, im not saying your wrong bro, i didnt want to start a big shit fest with everyone trying to prove me wrong. i was only trying to get the guys with the P-1SC to do some mods to get a lil more power out of what they got. im not a rich guy and i cant buy something and go around and buy a whole new system so imma get everything i can out of what i got. maybe later throw a 440 smallblock in there and procharge that. but now what im gonna do is get my P-1SC to get me in the 11's then shoot for a 10.90 after that. i know with slicks i run a 12.7 easy but i dnt have slicks and i ran my 13.4 on street 20's. you guys all have nice trucks and you may have had your trucks longer then i have but i will soon be on the first page of time slips. and i will show you that 700 can be made with a P-1SC and as i said before my engine is far from stock.

Now theres the quote of the year "Do some mods"

Seriously you are clueless my motor is modded from top to bottom.

Anyways I am done with this thread truly this has become totally idiotic at this point it's like trying to talk to a donkey.

So the v4xx doesn't fit the bracket for our trucks?

Well that's comforting ( Ysi trim) , least I can rest easy at night, but I still don't have it! I need to get the money before I can afford to have the truck down, down for as little time as possibly.

Nope - the YSi is the 'biggest' blower that fits on this bracketry....
