Yea so im 20 years old, yea 20... Have been havin these shootin pains in my back, and sometimes my legs will go numb.. So after a while of pain, i decided i will go to see wtf is goin on.. Get a scan and they say i got a sliped disk or somethin, and that its hittin a nerve or somethin causin the numbness, WTF! They wanna do surgery, but they say theres no guarantee to fix it. So i ask well wtf would i have surgery for if they dont even know if they can fix it... Now i have a life long back problem that started at the age of 20, this is bullshit... Well im not lookin for a pitty party just wanted to get this out, doesnt seem like a huge problem, but the pain and the knowin that this is going to be wit me the rest of my life gets to me..
Back problems...WTF...

I feel your pain. I was walking around with back pain for 5 years since I was 20; now at 25 it got so bad i went to see a chiropracter (what a joke that was.) I then went toa physical therapist, they did all the x-rays and exam. Found out I had a hairline frature in my back and a collapsed disc which was putting pressure on my nerve. It's called Sciatica. Anyway, I went to physical therapy for about 6 weeks and did everything they told me. I went from walking with A LOT of pain and a huge limp, to playing basketball and running with no pain at all. I suggest physical therapy surgery will be a last resort and you'll never be the same after. Hope it gets better man.

I had surgery in 2000 for a ruptured disc. Go to a Neurosurgeon not an orthopedist first.
My scans looked like the back of a man twice my age due to highly physical labor in my youth. Don't wait, get it fixed now! Do whatever it takes to make it happen. Fuck work, fuck quads, fuck summer jobs, this is your life. The kind of pain and agony you are going to suffer if you don't handle this will make you contemplate terrible things and I wouldn't wish that on anyone.
I went in for a very simple laser disectomy and was back on my feet, damn near good as new, in a week. (Then I got stupid in 2002 but that is another story).
My father needed a hip replacement and waited over a yearand a half because he was busy working. His back degenerated from him swinging his leg on a messed up hip joint. Even after getting the replacement he still has trouble walking becasue he waited.
My Neurosurgeon is here in Atlanta. I would be happy to PM you his name and number if you want to come see him or have your Dr. send out your MRI for him to look at.

So yea, its gotten worse... I woke up today around like 2:30, it felt like someone was stabbing me in the left leg over and over..... It was almost unbareable.. My girlfriend was freakin out, cuz i was layin there rollin around (which actually seemed to make it worse) yellin.. So looks like tommorrow i take a ride into the big city to have another opionion.. My mom gave me some horse pill, which dulled the pain down to about someone punchin me in the leg.. Kinda worries me, cuz we have 12 cars on the schedule at work, i have a fuel pump job hangin from today, and another guy has a rear end job hangin.. Idk if i wake up in not so much pain, i might head to work, then il take friday off.. Idk..
