I have a 1998 dodge dakota 318cc 5.2L v8 while driving it from dallas to my house in midland the truck(while on cruise control) started to loose power. I was coasting along at 70 and it just wouldnt go past 60. after about a 30 minute cooling time it started back up and acted normal except the truck is not devoloping the right amount of power. It seems to have lost a good amount of power, just in one or two hours of driving on the highway. The exhaust(a pipe coming out of the catayltic converter) is way too quiet. When i first bought it, it was really loud, now it sounds like a stock V6. It is a V8 running off of the cataylitic converter. soo i looked it up in Hynes repair manual and it said it might be the O2 sensors. ne body else have this problem?

Sounds like a clogged cat to me as well..
