Will a superchip tuner do the shift points on a 99 dakota R/T?
sorry but, :bs2: total bs...you can get the exact same make and model tuner on ebay for 300.00 with free shipping. they are trying to make sale out of you.DakotaRT said:I went to a place today to get one and they said $400.00. I told them there are companies on line selling them for $300.00 they said that those are fake ones not the real deal. Has anyone heard of fake ones on the market?

about 5,000 to 5,500 I believe. i checked right after I installed and I can't quite remember...at any rate it's more then you'll need to get your desired performance..the main benefit is the raised shift points..thats were you'll see the most gainsDakotaRT said:What is the best you will get out of it RPM's at WOT?
that looks legit to me because they are using the superchips name which is a registered tradmark and they wouldn't be able to do that legally if it wasn't the same item unless superchips is selling the trademark or patent...I doubt they would sell it because they wouldn't want there name on a obsolete product or anything that would give superchips a bad rep...the only thing I'm worried about is the picture they are showing is a black tuner and the correct tuner for the r/t is red but I doubt that means anything..anyways if you check the faq on that site they have a 30 day moneyback garuntee so if your not happy with it just send it back. hope this info helps.DakotaRT said:I just ordered the one in the link above.
it will..my truck is mostly stock and i saw a more then expected improvement..be prepared to chirp going into second gear during WOT.DakotaRT said:I hope it wakes this truck up. The only thing done to the truck is exhaust, Dropin K&N filter and mopar performance wires.
I was thinking about getting the superchips for my 99 R/T, I like to run 89 instead of 87, does the program have 89 or will I be forced to switch to 87 or 91? Which program do you run Steve?steve_r/t said:it will..my truck is mostly stock and i saw a more then expected improvement..be prepared to chirp going into second gear during WOT.
there is only the 87 octane program and then two 91 or higher octane programs..one for towing and one for performance..right now I'm running the 91 or higher performance octane with 93 octane gas..if you run 89 you would probably want to stay on the 87 octane program..you would probably hear pinging if you went with the 91 program with 89 octane...I ran the 87 octane program when I first bought the tuner and you will still see a significant improvement in hp/torque but to really get the truck moving you have to use the 91 or higher program.QuaTscH94 said:I was thinking about getting the superchips for my 99 R/T, I like to run 89 instead of 87, does the program have 89 or will I be forced to switch to 87 or 91? I have one I am about to put up on ebay-- $275 shipped. Used it on my wife's truck, but recently found a Mopar Perf. PCM for her 98-- and going to use that. It works good, and can switch from 87 to 91, or towing performance (which works okay)-- 87 octane tune works best with 89 octane...QuaTscH94 said:I was thinking about getting the superchips for my 99 R/T, I like to run 89 instead of 87, does the program have 89 or will I be forced to switch to 87 or 91? I don't have the manual, only the original box... I can walk you through the procedure over the phone, etc... It's really simple.
Let me know if you are interested.
