I have a 2006 Dodge Dakota with a 4.7l engine that I just recently changed the fuel pump and filter. It started up and worked fine for that day, the next day it wouldn't start. It would turn the engine over and suddenly it would start right up, followed by a slow turn off as if it was losing power. I have checked the fuel pump fuse and relay. Before all of this the engine wouldn’t turn over, which lead to the fuel pump change. The battery is no more than 6 months old. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If keeping a slight rev to the engine keeps it going it's the battery
