just running a 15"x8" rim here, but i am using the 275/60 with no ill effect on steering. the change in speedo is numeric, just figure it and go by it. if you do, you end up with better gas mileage and a less useless first gear for the manual crowd. everyone agrees that they look far better than the stock crap that came on her. i am running the firehawk indy's for dry traction and i highly recommend them for anyone who wants good dry handling and doesn't care about tires lasting.

Who makes a 285? It would likely depend on the profile. The only problem I have with the 275/60's is turning lock to lock. The tire will rub slightly on the frame. Most likely a 285 would be a little bit worse.
I've got 285/60/17's all around on the '02 Durango R/T I just bought 2 days ago. They're Kuhmos and a Tire Rack purchace. Not happy with the way it looks in the front (sticks out a bit), but the back looks great. No wheel well tire rub either. One thing about the Kuhmos is after you put some miles on them they develop quite a bit of road noise, but I guess for the price (under $100/ea.) it's not a bad deal. The previous owner has put 11,000 on them. In the long run I'll switch to a narrower front and a better tire cause I'm not afraid to pay more for quality, (learned that lesson from years of owning a Mustang :hammer: ). Most likely a 265 series, but need to do some more research on what tire, etc.

BTW, the current 285's are mounted on the stock 17" R/T wheels.

Hope this info helps.

Thanks, I don't know why I didn't see the 285's before.

Shaper, I like the wheels. What kind are they and how much? Do you know their weight?
